I didn't look at any walkthroughs or speedruns of Bloodborne and I'm having a blast. It is both immersive and fun.
I knew it was GOTY when I killed this 'friendly' NPC I suspected of being evil and he turned into a huge fucking monster. I don't think this game will have the same replay value that Dark Souls does because it seems (I could be wrong) that builds are pretty limited, but damn I am going to savor this first playthrough.

I've played every game since the DeS import threads, bought a ps3 for that game. I honestly think it's as good as DeS and better in quite a few ways, and I'm enjoying my second playthrough now with DLC even more than the first one.
I can see why one could grow bored of the style of combat of these games, but for me there has generally been enough time between the releases for me to go into it more or less fresh.

What's FROM's addiction to really stupid and annoying second phase fights with Bloodborne? It's bad enough they used the Cleric Beast because the camera becomes stupid when you're fighting locked on and without lock on it's hard to stay focused on an enemy that leaps like a frog and zooms across the area with every attack.
Then his legs come off and he pours lava, runs in circles and never EVER stops attacking.

Phase 2 is easy you just have to accept you only get 1 hit per punish because he will kill you for being greedy. Although i do find it odd why losing his legs magically makes him more of a threat and why he couldn't shoot lava vomit when he had his legs.
Orphan phase 2 was much more annoying. It was awesome but he breaks your lock on so easily and sometimes if you get a unlucky RNG which is still possible to beat but can be annoying he zooms back and forth like 5 times in a row breaking lock on/sight every time.
