/tg/ here, there are many ways to get into 40k, there is of course and most obvious the table top itself. W40k is the most popular wargame on the market and has been since the 80's though people nowadays have a love hate relationship with it for various reasons.
There are also Video Games. The best one is Dawn of War, an RTS made by Relic (the same dudes who made Company of Heroes and Homeworld) and is considered to be one of the best RTS games of all time. There is a Dawn of War 2 but its not as good as DoW 1 thoug it's still pretty good.
Black Library is the official publisher of all Warhammer novels. Read all of Dan Abneet's stuff. You cant go wrong with it. Other really good stuff that I recommend is the Ciaphas Cain series and Deff Skwadrun.
