To top it off the top piece (the grippy part broken off from walmart/gamestop controllers) was loose and not firm or attached to the actual stick like it should. So i popped it off and it looked like shit. So now I have a gimp right analog stick. But hey, now I can rotate it and keep my grip stationary like the 3DS stick.

my old OG xbox 360 controller has a worn out left analog stick. Out of the box from 2007 it had 4 dots on it to indicate direction, those easily got worn down. Since 2008-9 ive used it strickly for PC gaming and emu. So now my thumb has rubbed through the silicone (assumed shit material) to the plastic base. I have the silver wireless controller with the upgraded d-pad from 2010, it has a concave-like stick with a rim around it to prevent thumbs from sliding off stick with rotating it. But now, after yrs of use, that is starting to smooth out and look like the original xbox 360 analog stick...

I don't get the problem on controllers, but it happens like half an hour (even when I wash my hands) on a handheld. I play my N3DS with a towel now just so I don't wear out the finish so quickly.
