I think the main problems with the Werehog levels was how long they were as well as how slow-paced the combat was. I don't think the beat em' up style gameplay was inherently flawed, I even liked some of the platforming. Not to mention the obnoxious and obtrusive battle theme and the fact that it had like 4 fucking versions that all sounded the same except that one that went incredibly overboard with the drums.
