I would say maybe the original NES at my gramma's house. Super Mario Bros. with one of those big controllers.
Or maybe Genesis at my cousins. Could have been Streets of Rage (2?), Mortalk Kombat or Sonic.
I'm really not sure how young I was when I played Oregon Trail. I remember a lot of plug-in and play stuff too, but not at what age. I feel like I must have played Pac-Man and Dig Dug at a really young age though.
Is this really something any of you can pinpoint? Is my memory fucked?

My brother also had a friend with NES and Duck Hunt which was a very early experience for me, so that might have been it.

I was so fucking excited to get one of those cheap ass lcd tetris games. The NES was all I had and the only game I had was the SMB plus Duck Hunt. As a result I ended up knowing every little thing from about that game so I knew every tiny change in the arcade version.

For example off the top of my head
The goomba trapped in between the pillars at the beginning of W1-2 is a koopa in the arcade version and I think castle 5 or 6 is from the japanese version of Mario 2 instead of the original. There's also a fire flower on a different spot a little before the checkpoint in W1-1. It's normally in between 2 brick blocks, but in the arcade version is moved to the section above

I got Pokémon red and a red gameboy color for christmas as a kid from my parents. Thinking about it they probably bought it for me to take my mind off about them splitting up shortly after. First actual console was a Ps2. I played alot of jak and daxer.

I don't remember, either renting a SNES games or a Genesis game, but the first console I got was an N64 in 1999 with Star Wars Racer when I was 8-9 years old, my parents didn't really want me to get video games because they were afraid I'd stay shut in to play vidya (which actually became the case)
