Some people just don't like anime stereotypes and tropes which are extremely prevalent in video games with anime art style.
When I play a game with anime art style there are obvious things in the game that are there just because it was made to cater to the people who like anime cliches and stuff. The gameplay may be good but for some people it's brought down by the annoying tropes widly used.
