>The Comic relief is the mastermind villain
>>318209461
Thanks for the spoiler asshole
>>318209461
He wasn't comic relief at all anyone with a brain saw it coming when he got like so much more story attention than any other character
>The killer's identity is spoiled by a license plate
>tfw the town layout is shaped like Willie the dog
>>318209589
that's what you get for going to a Vietnamese jazz board, to be honest pharmacy
>One of the playable characters was the killer the whole time
Fuck you, Heavy Rain.
>>318209461
That final Boss battle was one of the worst gameplay experiences of my life only beaten out by the rest of this game
>that part where you wander aroundmurdering people as the raincoat killerwhile amazing grace plays in the background
What the fuck was that
>>318210058
I thought it was a cool twist besides the obviously completely bullshit clock shop bit
>to drink from or use as a urine cup
>>318210058
That was the most retarded execution of a plot twist I've ever witnessed
Did you see that, Zach? F K, in the coffee!
>>318210058
WHAT a TWIST
WHAT
A
TWIST
>>318210259
>deers are such erotic creatures
>>318210139
>implying it was worse thanGeorge's
That shit was plain retarded
>Zombies can not only talk, but also use small arms
>>318210295
>there will never be a p4 spinoff game where you play as adachi and the shadows
Fuck DAN, give me this shit Atlus
There it is, as clear as day
F. K. in the coffee
It never fails
>>318210295
>He thinks Adachi is the real villian
It like you didn't even play p4.

It was great

This is what happens when you cut out the paranormal elements from a paranormal story at the last minute
>want to play this again
>sold my 360
>pc version is cheap as fuck but allegedly unplayable
Is it really that bad?
>The killer's identity is spoiled by a vietnamese rug braiding forum
>>318212060
It crashes from time to time, but I never encountered a bug that stopped me from playing.
>>318212005
>all those blackouts
>that weird swimming part that was cut
>those moments that were straight up ripped from saw traps
Was this game written by a bunch of different people and just stapled together last minute or something? Shit is so incoherent sometimes it's crazy. Only good thing to come out of it wasNahmen Jayden FBI.
>Main character dresses up as his father's murderer
>He never realizes this
>>318211580
>these zombies start using shotguns
>>318212060
it's pretty broken, but it's defiantly worth 2.50
>>318212349
I feel like those costumes were non-canon animus fuckery since you can use costumes from games that hadn't happened yet
>>318210058
Baten Kaitos did something like this pretty well.
>go to george's house
>it's covered inred vines
>One of the main character's is a ritualistic Aztec killer
>mfw
Fuck off David Cage
>>318212329
no, david cage is just a hack
he has some interesting ideas sometimes, but he needs a better development team with the stones to filter out the bad stuff
>>318212525
>Main character dresses up as a scurvy dog pirate for one mission and no one mentions it
>>318212695
It's a little different though, and that's why it worked. In Baten Kaitos, you aren't the specifically the character, you're a spirit thing guiding them. In Heavy Rain you're literally Shelby, reading his thoughts and everything.
Despite the clunky port I managed to finish it 100%. It's one of the best games I've ever played hands down, but only because I love Lynch's movies to death.
If you have trouble running the game here's a checklist:
- Play the game after a restart
- Get DPFix 0.9 (0.91 has shadow bugs)
- Apply Win98 (XP mode works too but you might get a problem with mouse aiming) compatibility to both the game executable and launcher
- Turn off custom FFDShow codecs for the game
- Run the game windowed
- For the love of God, never ALT-TAB. It can screw the game up
- Save VERY often. Possibly after any quest done/card gotten.
- Enjoy one of the best games ever.

>FK in the coffee
>Forrest Kayson
Its really obvious
>that random character in the background you spoke to once is the villain
>>318213162
Only good game he made was Omnikron. And not because David Bowie was in it. But certainly it was a plus.
>>318209461
>the guy who ruins a genuinely good game for people who haven't played it
>>318212995
>>318213162
oh no i made the bad game
>>318213350
>>318213624
>good game
now hold on
do you mean "good" as in "The Room" good? or actually good?
every aspect of deadly P is a fucking mess. I mean I like the game because of how bad it is + the straight rip from Twin Peaks, but it isn't genuinely good
>>318211763
Shoulda known it was her when I couldn't get a job at the gas station like she promised. That bitch.
>>318213920
>I mean I like the game because of how bad it is
>>318213920
I think everyone is aware of how mechanically shitty this game is and when people call it a good game they're talking more about how it's a good experience.

Deadly Premonition is the kind of game where things are so crazy, you can spoil tons of shit and it really doesn't detract from it at all. Who the killer is amounts to like 3% of the huge-ass spoilers in the game.
Shit, the game itself has TONS of spoilers out in the open on purpose. Shit, you can tell Kaysen is behind the red seeds from the very first room in the game if you look around. Most people don't notice any of it, but even if they did it wouldn't matter to the overall experience.
>>318214578
I got who the killer is when I started following where the Red Trees are. Also fucking license plates straight up leave hints. The game is well constructed in the sense that if you wind back to the start you can see that the clues were there from the start, you were just unable to read them at that time.
>The comic relief that's been relevant to the plot this whole time
>The whole time up until you finally catch him
Fuck you Phantom
Good job setting yourself up to be found out asshole
>>318214035
do you have an argument for the game being an actually good game or are you just gonna post reaction images
>>318214193
>good experience
it's certainly an experience, though I wouldn't call it good.
there is so much dull, monotonous shit in this game. not to mention the bugs and all the shit that doesn't work right. combat segments are all horrid because it's either one shotting everything with quint's invincible rape wrench or emptying dozens of infinite ammo smg bullets into everything
maybe you guys are looking back at it with nostalgia glasses; it's pretty fresh for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty fond of the game. But it's more in the way that someone would be fond of a dog with no legs rather than fondness of something good
Nice family you have there!
Anyone crash at the end of the hospital?
>>318214492
Also this motherfuckerThat one part where he pulls a gun on Kyle sent chills down my spine
>>318209461
>Not knowing the mastermind was the dog
>>318211763
She's not really the 'villain' in the story though. The main villain is Adachi, with Izanami and her parts wanting to grant humanities desires.
>>318214961
>He apparently didn't play the sidequests
>He didn't appreciate the level design, world, characters, and writingI'll give you that the combat is garbage and the game feels pretty loose over all though. Thatkfully the combat goes by pretty quick though, at least in the Director's Cut.
>>318212060
There's an unofficial fix for the crashes, you have to restart your computer after installing it for some reason though.
>>318214961
I played the game a few years ago beforeI even knew what 4chan. The game just has a comfortable vibe to it. It's strange and quirky and go's out of it's way to not explain shit.
>>318209461
>He's your best friend in a game made by the same developer
>>318215573
i admittedly did very few sidequests because I could not be arsed to drive about since pretty much every sidequest i did was "get thing and give thing to person" causing you to drive around the stupidly large town for hours
still didn't bother to do them when i got the teleport radio, because at that point I just didn't care.
>level design
one of my biggest gripes with the game easily, hated how far apart everything was and how much of a fucking pain it was to find people half the time

The aztec killer wasn't even the stupidest part in this clusterfuck of a story.
>your waifu was a bitch

>>318209461
The dog wasn't comic relief tho.
>>318209461
jar jar is the phantom menace
>the shopkeeper was the villain all along
>main villain is revealed as a big surprise but is from a character that was shown like once
>Comic relief is a mastermind villain
>Its so out of place that they had to justify it more in later games
>>318221414

I really like David Cage, I think he should be an example to the entire industry. David cage is a true artist.
>Mind-controlling mysterious guy
>Turns out to be Mayan Oracle
>Turns out to be Matrix bad guy
>And then... machines!
Has a man ever made so many competent plot twists or weaved such intricate characters?
Has a man ever turned crude video games into interactive art pieces like David "Cage" De Grutolla?
>>318209461
>>318209461
I can honestly say I never saw it coming.

>>318212995
>all of those background hints of there being an unprecedented super blizzard about to wreck
>turns out its just alien computer programs that you fight in qte's
Cage comes up with some interesting concepts and characters but he gets some kind of weird anyeurism where he must inject some dumb nonsequitur shit in his game and call it a twist.
>>318209461
>the dog Willie was behind Kaysen
How?
