no. Its a pretty boring game. The dumbed down rtwp combat really really hasnt aged well, the areas are pretty small and the writing isnt too hot.

Taris can be pretty boring, if you stopped there it's pretty understandable. Push forward and it will get better, although Manaan is also pretty dull.

The early areas give you a general feel, but you only get a real sense of freedom after the starter areas.
Keep going. Once you become a Jedi (which only took about 8 hours for me) it picks up and gets much better.
The hours fly by though so it won't be as far away as it might seem.

RC is max 8 hours long but it's cheap, so you get some bang for your buck.
The atmosphere is good, the enemies are actually threatening aside from the basic battle droids, but it does feel like some are bullet sponges.
The squad AI is well done, and you really have to give orders to every one of them for maximum combat effectiveness.
I rate it a low 8 with clone wars bias because I like the design and voices of the clones.

KOTOR 2 got a really nice patch that makes it run amazing on modern systems, but for some reason they ignored the first game. A real shame.

I just can't handle Kotor 2's Peragus after the first time I played it on Xbox. It's the worst tutorial level I've ever played and what's so shit is that it's so much better beyond that. There's probably some mod out there on PC that skips it. I need to look into it.
