There's nothing wrong with that though. Most people are still busy with paying for their studies at that age, having free living space is just advantageous, also to your parents. Do your parents not love you or something for kicking you out that early?

This has to be bait. You can't possibly justify being an adult and still living with your parents. That is just pathetic, bruh.

it's shit, like every level ever created in Mario Maker.

Just got it on the 18th, my 18th birthday. Spent some time making 7 levels while the unlocks slowly rolled in. Only the final level here has everything unlocked.

Cat Mario In A Nuteshell: 2324-0000-00F2-C72F (A tale of struggle and woe as you try to keep a Cat Mario powerup throughout a stage, and are faced with the realization you can't keep it.)

Your jumps are as long as needed:
FBDA-0000-00F3-BBDE (A level about pixel perfect jumping and using all your moves. Right around here I started putting in secrets that can make my levels easier a bit. It was my first, so they were kinda obvious.)

Flappy/Swimmy Goomba:
0451-0000-00F6-202C (All I can say about this is I think I captured the rage of the original Flappy Birds as well as the constant mashing of buttons. Also, I still thought forcing the player to be good enough to keep their costume till the stage end was a good idea.)

The Mushroom Cup! 50cc
BCEC-0000-00F7-59FF (A race to get to the mushroom before it vanishes from the stage. Nothing much to say here besides I saw inspiration for it from a stage I got in 100 Expert Mario mode.)

Choices, Turtles and Fire, Oh My
1A6B-0000-00FA-12AF (Experimenting with multiple paths. Put a couple secrets in there that carry over each choice, letting you get to a star at the end to breeze by Bowser Jr. and Bowser if you went through each secret.)

Bowser Jr.'s Air Fleet Ambush
E252-0000-00FC-44DE (First one I can confidently say I like. Only 2 regrets were not editing the Magikoopa part enough [which should be fine if you rush it and get the P-switch], and not having a checkpoint, which I didn't know how to make than.)

Big Boo's Air Mansion In The Air
4429-0000-0102-2669 (My latest one and my most proud one. I feel like I really got it down this time.)
>>
>have to slowly unlock building stuff
I guess it's for the best
Giving everything to me from the start could be overwhelming
How long should it take to unlock everything?
>>
friendly reminder that if you're not actively playing other people's levels then replying here telling them what you thought, you are the reason these threads die after 30 posts at most
>>
>>318211697
Good stuff, I liked all the multiple paths, it made the level feel big. Also plenty of secrets to find and nice usage of bomb-ombs.
>>
>>318212740
Why is there no Mario Maker general on /vg/?
The game's not even old
>>
>>318211697
A bit challenging, but I like it. Nice secrets to.
>>
Here's my newest level, if you look carefully you'll find it's actually two levels in one.

Skyward Swarm:
F820-0000-00F8-6520

Fly up and to the left to play the hidden shmup stage.

Would love some feedback. Not sure if this particular stage was a case of overkill.
>>
>>318212158

My internet's being screwy now but I played the Cat level for a minute. To be honest, almost any level that starts with stacked springboards is a skip for me. However, I appreciate that you're still unlocking stuff. Just please for use springboards sparingly in the future, too many levels overuse them.

Ok brad, as soon as I saw a combination of spikes, springs and no obtainable powerup, I gave up. These things simply do not mix well and are annoying to deal with.

I try and make levels that are like actual mario levels for the most part. Some vary from that but thats the general style. I'd like to try make some different ones but I enjoy making a structured course too much. I also feel as if I go too easy on the player. Some feedback would be appreciated, if im too easy or harsh in parts. In order of creation here are some levels I think I did a good job on.

Here's a level I finished today. It's got lots of different paths. I don't think it's too hard.

>Super Cave Carver!
3174-0000-0101-D092

It's a remake of this level:
>Cave Carver
4C09-0000-0095-18D5

They're actually fairly different, but both use similar concepts. Let me know what you think, and which you like better.

>>318215829
Short, but pretty good. Got a little crazy with those rocky wrenches though.
>>
>>318212158
Played your levels.
Stacking springs is a instant skip for most people. Because its something not hard, just annoying for the sake of being annoying.

Just not good enough for pixel perfect jumps. I can admit that.

No, making the player have to keep the power up for the whole stage is not a good idea.

Seems like a good level, but I just couldn't get past the first set of spikes.

Good level, just too hard for me.

Sorry, but I do not feel that Bowser Jr.'s Air Fleet Ambush is good, simply because you shouldn't start a level with the player able to die just about instantly.

And the big boo's air mansion is pretty cool. Nice job dude.

I starred the levels I thought were great and cool, mainly Mushroom cup, choices, and Big Boo's Mansion.

My levels are here if you are interested:

I need people to play this level and see if everything works correctly. Podoboo behaviour is sort of strange, but I think I have everything figured out. Let me know if there is a place you get stuck.

Ping-Pong Podoboo
(1D42-0000-0102-194D)
>>
>>318219274
I'll try your level again when you add more mushrooms. It sucks right now an you're right, Podoboo aren't very predictable and they went of rails a couple of times there.
>>
Made my first level today so tell me if you like it.

Cool level.
>>
>>318207983
Oh sorry, how new is it? I keep track of the levels I have played by checking if I starred it, but you keep deleting and re-uploading the same levels, so I can't tell if I played it or not. How new is it?

It shows that it's your first level, but everyone starts somewhere so here's a star for encouragement.
>>
Hey guys, I won't post my big list of levels as they are all before the addition of checkpoints and are very short as a result.

But I do have a new level I've made using the new functionality. It is fairly easy, but not as easy as my other levels, but I'd love some feedback and critique.

Long for this World: E30D-0000-0102-003A

If you enjoy my level and star it, I'll definitely return the favor by playing a level or two of yours and starring whichever one I end up liking most.
>>
>>318220458
Oh ok, will play then.
>Uh no?

I've already played and starred:
All parts of goomba revolution.
Shroom Rocky Hills.
Blocky Land.
Brinstar Escape Shaft (Melee)
Race to the Finish.
Fish and Cheep-Cheeps Cave.
and yet it doesn't say that I starred them.

Must have just been those levels then, my bad sorry.
>>
So who's the guy posting on /r9k/ yesterday about all the friends he's made from these threads and how they've kept him from an heroing?

It was in the /cripplingdepression/ general, felt bad for the guy.
>>
>>318219274
Decent concept, but like the other guys said, it could probably use some more shrooms. I couldn't get past the room after the checkpoint (though that may just be because I'm a scrub), and I didn't retry a whole lot due to having to wait for the bombs to blow up to progress.

My level is at >>318218806, if anyone wants to give it a shot.

>>318212158

>>318213741

>>318215829
Great Idea, auto scroll really forces you to play again when you miss secrets

>>318217135
Amazing, love levels like this
>>
>>318221630
Are you talking about the room with the pwitch? Every room with a p-switch is sort of a puzzle where you have to time it it in order to trap the podoboos. If you do that, they can't hurt you so I don't really see why the level needs more checkpoints.

Caver was pretty good, I liked the first section a lot but I'm a sucker for conveyor belts

This and the last course have a few hidden routes, so please replay to find them if you'd like.
>>
>>318223459
Okay, I'll play your courses. make sure to play spikes and ice, and spin-jumping is a common theme, though.
>>
>>318223310
I literally can not get past the Whomp Conveyor part. And the fact that you can consider that to be a reasonable challenge shows me that you have a huge disconnect from the level of patience people have. I got through it the first time with the fire flower, so I could get through the thing. But after that, from the checkpoint as Small Mario? Fuck that.

I'll try your other level.
>>
>>318224267
I thought that was one of the easier parts of the level. Just tap the dpad so that you stay inbetween them. You realize I had to clear that part as small mario, too?
>>
>>318224267
I just played that level and it was extremely easy. git gud.
>>
>>318224475
I did, because of the way checkpoints work.

>>
>>318224475
Okay, so I just finished both of your levels. I liked crisscross roads a lot, but there was a flaw in the other level; part of the flag pole was inaccessible. That's my only complaint. So, what did you think of spikes and ice and spin-jumping is a common theme?

>>
>>318224475
>>318224617
I'm replaying the level and I attempt to explain my difficulty with it.

I was unaware that Mario could actually run fast enough to overpower the fast conveyor belts, on other levels, whenever I am on a fast conveyor belt I am constantly jumping to make progress forward. As such, I was attempting to pass that section by jumping close to a Whomp and then jump OVER it. This proved to be very difficult.
>>
>>318224898
I'm not sure if I agree with you that part of the pole being obscured is a flaw. You don't need any 1-ups in individual play, the level isn't nearly hard enough to warrant compromising the layout for an extra 1-up for 100-man runs, and frankly I don't take score into consideration at all.

I don't think anything of those two levels, because you didn't post their codes, or at least didn't mention the codes and the names in the same post. I'll find them by looking at the users who played these courses last, I guess.

Funny, I had just played two of your levels when you posted that. As for Temporal Trouble, it is very clever (though I probably missed a lot of the Oracle of Ages style stuff). My favorite was the tiny Chain Chomp becoming a big one and off his chain (though that tiny chomp did account for one of my deaths).

>>318226839
Oh, you had trouble with the vines? Yeah, I guess I could see that. It is easy after playing the level over and over and the technique becoming second nature how it might be difficult when you haven't warmed up. If I were to redo it, I might do a little practice area before hand where you can choose to do vine jumps for maybe some coins but there's no danger.

There's a pretty big secret hidden in this one. Tell me if you find it!

Harder than the first one, really glad that they added checkpoints in that recent update. Try to find the three hidden one-up mushrooms!

Piranha Valley was fun, what was the secret though, I'm not sure if I found it or not

That's gotta be one of the best levels I've played in this game. Loved the thematic.

Hello folks.

Alrighty, World 5 is done, I've started World 6 but some rather serious irl problems have made it difficult to find a consistent time to work on it, though the worst is over I think.

Bit Crusade 2:
Start here: 1-1: Back to Basics A839-0000-00D8-1BD7

World 5
5-1: Return to Subcon? BD58-0000-00F3-CA36
5-2: Conveyer Switch Carnage 058B-0000-00F8-A2C1
5-3: Blaster Crush Asylum 188C-0000-00F9-D854
5-4: High Tech Security Zone A26B-0000-00FE-32A5
Bonus #5: Boo's New Race Track
896F-0000-00FF-096D

Alternative tunes for those tired of the in-game music like I am.
5-1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O1scj9uxtw
5-2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lioh3mC3e9Q
5-3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6NBbRIWaoE
5-4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdoyZLrhAH0
Bonus 5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqYa6VDQhCc&index=12&list=PL8C11093148590B47

Enjoy. Gonna leave the tab open so I can play all the stuff here tomorrow, I'm beat.

I uploaded a level that's not entirely meant to be cleared. You're welcome to try but I'm more interested in hearing what part is the most fun/interesting.
Water Shenanigans- B5F2-0000-0102-D19E
Like I said, I'm more curious to know what ideas I had worked and what didn't, and how I could improve.
Here's a serious level though just to balance out the experimental shit
A Day in the Park- 7B33-0000-00B1-09A9
Enjoy

I have to say anon, you're commitment is inspiring. Not only do you make countless great levels that you seem to tirelessly workshop and improve, but you're dedicated to helping others make and improve levels.
I don't know if you're just a great guy, or you really love mario levels, but you're the best among us anon. Godspeed.

Thank you. I go by the philosophy of if its worth doing, then its worth doing right.

A little of both, it's in my nature to not be an asshole, there's enough of them about. Its not so much that I love mario, I just love vidya in general, as its been my main hobby since I was a babby.
