I love Wind Waker, but replaying it recently really exposed how unfinished it was to me.
That game is short as hell, and the combat became laughably simplified thanks to the counterattacks. And if it wasn't for the swift sail, I wouldn't have had the patience to do anything past the main quest again.

The Imprisoned fights do change. They become increasingly more annoying. The "items are useless outside of their dungeon and useless in battle" argument can be applied to any 3D Zelda. Other than that, I agree. Although I think the parry and shield health system could actually be really good if it was better implemented.

I hate this forced meme. A time limit implies you have a possibility of running out of time. There's a time system as far as the NPC schedules go, but you can reset your time at literally any time you choose before the moon falls and the worst that happens is you lose your easily replaced consumable items

The dungeon design is bulky, cumbersome, yet still condescendingly linear. There's only about two good bosses. Items are poorly utilized. Its plot is at best poorly paced (Ilia and her amnesia is stretched so thin across the game it loses any emotional impact it might've had) and at worst so nonsensical it ruins the tension that should exist for the second half (somehow Zelda sacrificing herself for Midna allows mysterious triangle prism to descend over Hyrule Castle, one which no one notices or comments on and which seems to have no negative impact whatsoever to the rest of the land...seriously, what is the threat in this game? What is Link fighting against after the Twilight areas have been cleared out?). Am I forgetting anything?
