Why are there so few video games about current events? All I want is a nice RPG about the Syrian civil war or the Donbass rebellion.
>>
Because it takes time to develop a game.

How hard can it be with so many free engines and so much low-cost talent available? I've seen freelancing sites with people offering their coding or graphics skills for third world prices.

>Syrian civil war
>Syrians are fleeing specifically from Russian troops committing genocide
Most Americans don't even know this tragedy is still an active event. They only know of the refugees committing crimes and wasting resources.
>>
Sounds really boring. Not to mention controversial.

>Boring sandnigger conflicts

Literally dozens of games already feature this. The market was saturated with them.

You people are boring. Your religion is obnoxious. Brown and bloom literally came about because your region of Earth is so hideous and Africa-tier when it comes to mental development issues.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare has moved on from you people. As they should.

Stfu you zionist shill whore, Shlomo. The ones committing genocide are ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra, funded by Turkey, Qatar, Saudi, USA, and Israel. Assad and Putin are trying to rescue Syria from extremists who kill people just for not following their extremist ideology.

Real world conflicts make shit uninteresting settings for video games, unless they're really old. WW2 works in games because enough time has passed for the media to distort the actual reality of the war into some romantic star-wars heroes vs baddies battle.

Modern conflicts are still in people's minds and would be too controversial and traumatic to adapt into games.
>>
>>318155401
This game kinda what you look for?
Obviously it's out-dated now, but it did reference current events.

I frankly don't think the industry is ready for political commentary.

Like seriously, imagine if EA or ubisoft or whoever started making games with political statements, does it really look like a good idea?

Cant make a good game about that.

If you want some faggy tacticool shit then we already got plenty of that.

Go play Alladin for the SNES or Genesis instead or some shit.

I was thinking more along the lines of geopolitics and conspiracy. For example, it would be interesting to play as a Syrian intelligence officer trying to infiltrate the Turkish government or something like that. There would also be some conventional battles of course, but it shouldn't be the central focus. Like others in this thread have said, plain old FPSes involving the Middle East are overdone.

Because nobody knows anything about them. That's why most video games center around a handful of events and location like ww2 and western Europe or generic futuristic settings: because people aren't educated about any events well enough to writ about them

It would have been another C&C 4 if it ever got released.
They sucked ALL the humour out, the art direction was as generic as possible, microtransactions up the ass and no single player.

How about YPG/PKK, Hezbollah, Iran, Russia, SDF, Nusra, Peshmerga, Iraqi army/PMU?

All these factions aren't split into two arbitrary teams like some sort of video game. Also ISIS doesn't even target Christians deliberately. Christians can live relatively safe in ISIS areas - unlike Alawites, Shiites and Yezidis.

Contrary to popular belief, most muslims don't give a flying fuck if you are a Christian in the middle east. Syria has many Christian communities that have been left alone for centuries - until now.

Because if you make a game about Islam or their pedo prophet, the entire Muslim mob worldwide will try and will successfully kill you, your colleagues and your family.

And it will be celebrated by all 1.2 billion Muslims.
>>
>>318164098

actually they are, contrary to what lies Ahmed fed you.

Usually, Christians in the Middle East are the only people willing to work hard for their livelihood.

This usually means that they are rich. And everybody in the Middle East knows that.

So, at the start of any war or disturbance, mudslimes usually target christians businesses, buildings and houses because they believe those stupid retards can handle the loss rather than poor sand dindu nuffins who have to offer their part of their money to the mosque.

If you are a Christian, you usually are the only willing to work hard in the sea of lazy retards in the Middle East. If you study there, you will find your mudslime mates always trying to copy your assignment in the belief that you actually put effort in your work in comparison to them.
