if they decide to start from scratch and fail spectacularly and insist on continuing down the same path then either:

I think they're just gonna take a break from it m8. And they need one now. Beating the same horse indefinitely causes fatigue and stifles creativity. They'll probably make 2 or 3 new AAA tier games before returning to Souls when everybody wants them to. I expect a new Souls-like game from them in four years towards the end of the console cycle. I wouldn't even want a new Souls game after two years of Souls 3's release.
Also don't forget that Dark Souls III is gonna last you at least 2 years. At least it will me. They will undoubtedly release DLC for it, too, and judging from past experience From make the best damn DLC ever.

1. Learn the difference between a rumour and fact.
2. Even if there was a contract, that's not how they work. When a studio had a contract for three games it means there are three specific games they're making. Not just three random unspecified games that Sony decides everything abut them at a later date. So if they are making three games for Sony (which I highly doubt) the fact Miyazaki said Souls and Bloodborne are done after DS3 means BB2 isn't one of them.
