I have about 80 hours in insurgency and I heard its a lot alike except WW2 so thats why I wanted to check it out.
I like it, the playerbase is not that big but is easy to find a full server
Also it is pretty gritty if you enjoy that, so killing someone specially in close quarters feel pretty good.
The only problem i have is that i can only play in one role because i am bad at the rest

It's pretty fantastic, but the population has always been pretty low. There are usually enough servers to find a game you want to play, though.

Also the ping is pretty good, it is playable with 170 ms if you live in a country with no servers

I've pretty much retired from playing it after about 110 hours. The population is small but dedicated, you might only be able to play it in the afternoons or weekends if you want a server with half-decent ping.
When you start out you will be getting killed from everywhere constantly, but once you learn the ins and outs it's a pretty satisfying game

My favorite thing RO2 has over Insurgency is the fuckhuge maps. You can actually flank and outflank enemy flanks, Insurgency feels so limited, with so many routes out of the zone.
People definitely still play it, it's lots of fun, though sometimes very frustrating. Absolutely worth 5 bucks
How toaster friendly is it? I can get insurgency to run at medium settingswith shadows on very low1080p 60 fps on my i5's hd 4600 but that's small maps and smaller lobbies.

RO2 ran like ass when it was first released, but after about a year of patching they smoothed things out. Not sure how it would run on a literal toaster though. It uses Unreal 3, make of that what you will.

that's the point of the game. You're not some super soldier who can take on the third reich solo. You charge the cap with 20 or so guys then put up defenses or mount counter attacks and whatnot. The commander is there to highlight what objective you should all attack because A: people don't look at the chat or B:they no speaky english. So instead of the team being split between points they all rush to one and cap it easier.

In Dec 2014 they re-opened and announced work on Cossacks 3, but as far as anyone knows, STALKER 2 is still dead.

It is good and people play it consistently. It can be frustrating at first because you will die from nowhere with no kill cam and you dont knpw the levels and the front of the battle shifts constantly, but if you persevere and learnfrom your mistakes you can become credit to team.
Only if you're looking for an immersive ww2 fps with little room for casual players. Such excellent sound design among other things it does well

BUT the game style is most definitely not an arcade shooter. Think of it as more DayZ gunplay with moments of charging under heavy gun fire rather than battle field.
