Well maybe it's nostalgia but my 12 year old self absolutely loved finding and owning each move (maybe being a Mega Man fan had something to do with it), and finding the Copy "secret" world was the most awesome thing in the world, at least for that week.
But maybe you're right, the stage design might have been a bit awkward.
