So does Fallout 4 have any interesting vaults at all to explore?
>>
honestly no. there is only like 5 vaults and most of them are just filled with gunners/other enemy factions.
>>
>>318097950
I really like that sign. That's a nice sign.
>>
>>318099226

Well that is disappointing. Entering an unknown vault, not knowing what to expect, was one of my favorite parts of FO3 and NV.

really Obsikuks? really?
>>
>>318097950
81 is pretty fun to explore. A lot of people don't really explore it since it since there's still people living in it so they miss it along with qt3.14 french fuckbot companion.
>>
>>318100059
If you knew anything about Vault 22, you would know why there are fucking plants around it. Also, there is no valid argument against there being vegetation two centuries after nuclear Armageddon.
>>
>>318100113
that and the actual quest is only unlocked once you do a seemingly minor 'find my cat' quest from a little girl who is easily missed
that and when you turn it in, it doesn't always trigger the actual quest immediately
>>
>>318100059
I'll take the bait.

Vault 22 was researching plants that could thrive in the wasteland.

Besides that, it's in the middle of the goddamn Mojave desert. Besides Las Vegas, barely any nukes fell around there.
>>
>>318100059

2/10 I replied
>>
>>318097950
Looking back, this is the only actual quest I can remember from Fallout New Vegas. Everything else was just going from point A to point B and listening to some NPC wax on about shit no one cares about
>>
>>318100369

You missed out on some great quests then, especially Vaults. There was a vault that pumps hallucinogenics in to the air and you start seeing things that aren't there when you enter.
>>
>>318100369
>Everything else was just going from point A to point B

You mean like every quest in every video game ever?
>>
>>318100752
Most RPGs are

>Listening to NPC wax on then go clear out a dungeon

New Vegas just cut out the actual gameplay and made it purely listening to NPCs talk
>>
>>318100876
You are filled to the brim with shit.
>>
>>318100876
you know that games don't inherently have to have violence in them, right?
>>
>that feel when you explored NV and found this little vault entrance from the opposite side sliding down mountainsides so you didn't see the sign going in because you were behind the sign right at the entrance
>that feel when the first plant guy shows up and scares you to the point where you have to stop playing for a second to calm down

I hated and loved that vault.
>>
>>318100981
I guess if they want to be farm simulators or tumblerina indie games, then sure.
>>
>>318097950
the vaults were really lame in fallout 4. Only semi interesting one was vault 81 and 75
>>
>that fire ant tract of land and the fire ant tunnels in NV

Pure terror. I've seen giant ant monster movies and have seen giant ants in movies in general. They are truly terrifying when they are larger than normal.

>IF I CAN'T KILL EVERYONE THE GAME IS FOR FUCKING BITCH FEMINAZIS AND AUTISTS
lmao, go back to playing hatred you edgelord. fallout games are about the rebuild of society, which surprisingly can mean diplomacy instead of being a rabid cod autist needing to be put in a corridor shooter with bad guys consistently. people like you are why fallout 4 is just a shooter with minor rpg elements instead of an RPG-FPS.

Vault 75 was kind of cool. They wanted to make supermen by selective breeding and culling the population once they were over 18. But either I missed some logs or there wasn't enough information.

honestly no

I think there is five vaults; one is the one you start the game in, wherein there is absolutely nothing besides the cryolator

there are two vaults run by psuedo-raiders (triggerman and the gunners)

one vault that has a community in it that gives you a couple shit quests and the french robot companion

there is another but I honestly can't even remember what was in it.

fallout 4 has a major issue with unique content. there is maybe like 10~ actually unique weapons, most quests are either "go to place and kill everything" or "go to place and kill everything and get a thing".

I just finished the game and I doubt I will replay it until all the dlc is out and I can mod it to the point where you wouldn't recognize it from vanilla.
>>
>>318102742
This. 82 hours and I don't feel like playing anymore. I populated spectacle island with 27 settlers and I don't feel like there's much left to do of importance.
>>
>>318097950

Did fallout 1 or 2 have any interesting vaults?

Vault City is probably the only vault not to get fucked over, and it was neat revisting 13 in 2, but they were mostly just rusted out bunkers
>>
>>318097950
vault 81 is all right
you get a qt robofu that you can romance

vault 75 is fun to piece together from terminals and skeletons
it's also fun to laugh at the lore mistakes

without shitposting, but fallout always seemed to have issues with staying consistent to its own lore. FEV was a clusterfuck in both 1 and 2 and even the whole "Vault tec experiments" angle was a retcon

>I don't feel like there's much left to do of importance.

that's exactly it, the game is really a husk when you get into it

like i've replayed NV and even 3 several times each and there is still shit i need to do in it/shit I haven't done many times. First playthrough of 4 and it's just all finished, there is no real choices or differences between playthroughs

like when i think of replaying NV i think of doing different factions, different builds etc; there is nothing really like that in 4.

sure there is four factions but you can do every fucking quest besides the very last for every faction in the same playthrough. there are no builds outside of "use guns" or "don't use guns"
>>
>>318103210
>even the whole "Vault tec experiments" angle was a retcon
No it wasn't. Vault 15 and whatever the Necropolis Vault was were both experiments, the former involving an isolated, multicultural community and the latter dealing with radiation exposure.
>>
>>318103329

I thought that shit only came up in 2?
>>
>>318103329
That was a retcon too. Vaults were not originally experiments in 1. Necropolis vault just broke.
>>
>>318100981
I was really surprised when I played FO2 how you could avoid sooo many fights in that game.

It really makes FO4 just seem like a shooter with fetch quests in comparison
>>
Should I sell fallout 4 and get star Wars?

Fuck they both barely have content.

This.

This is way too true.

This is the first time a Fallout game has absolutely no replay value.

I really enjoyed the game, it had some great gameplay, but I don't think I'll ever get to play it again.

The fact that there are so few quests makes it worse too.
>>

Are there any places in 4 like Camp McCarren where there's actually a few unique quests like dragging that guys body out of a fiend trap and interrogating the Legion Centurion?

>>
sucks to know that quests like the replicated man, saving/assassinating the president, getting the geck, boones quest, the final thieves guild quest in oblivion, the superheros in bigtown ,etc. get replaced by KILL THESE RAIDERS, SAVE THIS SETTLEMENT, KILL X, KILL Y. No interesting decisions just kill kill kill.
>>
>>318105968
Stop shooting innocent people then.
>>
>>318106041
They're only innocent until the shoot at me though.

No seriously, does she get upset when I shoot raiders and such or just if shooting neutral npcs?
>>
>>318100059
The barren wastes in Fallout games are brought on by the death of plant life from the explosions themselves sending massive amounts of dust and debris into the atmosphere.

Radiation itself does not kill plant life. It mutates it drastically, i.e. MASSIVE dandelions, strawberries with growths... but it will not kill it.

If a vault like OPs was designed around plant life, it would definitely survive.

No. There is literally not a single location that is even remotely interesting in the entire fallout 4 world. Not only are all the locations lame and uninteresting, but they are packed on top of each other in a jumbled clusterfuck and the map makes no sense whatsoever.

I randomly stumbled onto that vault, spent a great long time exploring it. Super creepy and a good time.

That's what I really liked about NV (haven't played any other fallouts so I don't know if the others are like this), it was kinda like you could just wander into the middle of really interesting stories.

Yeah, chances of a location having something unique, memorable, or interesting going on were very high.

There were also numerous terminals scattered throughout locations, most of which required a good amount of science to access, that would divulge parts of the story and allow you to piece things together a bit.
