Not only is it a reskin but it's also a complete and utter downgrade to the original game aside from the graphics.

Mario Kart 8 made several great jabs at making the series great again, adding new elements and bringing back favorites, but Battle Mode is a steaming pile of shit and honestly 7 might have done the whole thing a bit better.

I like Super Mario Maker, but I like all the Mario platformers so it's made for people like me who like the series.
I've played several titles I liked on Wii U and I still have some I want to play or play at length. Nintendo Land multiplayer and the Donkey Kong game are great, Mario 3D World is interesting with friends with good visuals and a fantastic soundtrack. Lego City Undercover is a good bargain bin title, even if it does fail at being a "GTA clone for kids." And Tropical Freeze is the best use of the Donkey Kong franchise in ages. I don't get how most of /v/ doesn't understand that "it doesn't have grimdark games, shooters and strategy games? It's shit" will never be a valid argument.
Fuck Nintendo for dropping the ball on third party support again, though.

Because a lot of the exclusives that made Sony consoles worth a purchase have gone multiplat or are available on their previous gen system like KH, Persona 5 and Dragon Quest Heroes and the rest are remasters with only a graphical update so there's no losses when you get it on a previous console.
