she apparently got a custom ordered pc and this was in the box
also the pc came with 2 cds one called GPU tweak and one called mother board support
does she need to install them or will the computer play games fine without them?

That's an SLI bridge for connecting two identical Nvidia cards assuming you have them.
A lot of times they'll just come with the GPU for free as a courtesy.

That thing is an sli bridge. You only use that if you have two graphics cards. GPU tweak is not needed to play but use the motherboard cd for driver installation.

You shouldn't need to install any bloatware that came with the gpu. GPU tweak will be overclocking software, if you really want to spend hours fucking around with frequencies and fan speeds for an extra 3% performance knock yourself out m8.
the part is an unnecessary part, put it in a box somewhere and forget about it
the disc may contain your mobo drivers/customization, if the machine is running properly you don't need to worry about it. Keep it somewhere you won't forget about it.

USD doesn't translate well into GBP when it comes to computer parts; the manufacturing and shipping costs are much cheaper in the US, so you can build a PC there for roughly half the price of the UK. £800 for a very strong gaming PC isn't that unreasonable, especially if it's including peripherals like a monitor.
