so /v/, are 144hz monitors truly worth it for video games? I play a lot of FPS and there are some very good deals right now

It's pretty gud
You honestly notice it more in windows than in games though
Only if you can keep 144FPS at all times or it has freesync/gsync.
I just bought one, I hope so.
Yes absolutely.

really? because i plan to just put games onto the 144hz monitor and use my current u2410 for everything else but I might just sell it u2410 since I don't edit photos or anything (stupid purchase, I fell for the IPS meme, even if the colors are amazing)

I can keep 144hz in a lot of the games i actually need the frames for (CS GO mainly, older FPS games too). but I do usually stay around 60 for brand new games like fallout 4, witcher, etc. I don't necessarily have a fuckload of money, so I can't really drop $3000 to have a PC capable of those frames or drop $500 (best deal I can see) for a freesync monitor. http://www.ncix.com/detail/benq-xl2411z-24in-led-144hz-53-95033-1259.htm
this is the one I'm looking at right now

you can get an Asus VG248QE for $210 on NewEgg ($185 if you use a Visa Checkout code), no Freesync though
I'm thinking about getting a 1440p 144hz monitor for my 980 sli setup, what monitors would be good for this build?ones that preferably aren't $700

>I'm falling for the 144hz meme

>get used to 60+FPS
>limit FPS to 60
>it's so fucking choppy
You don't notice how much better it is until you go back to 60.fucking FO4 breaking when it's running at more than 120FPS

I had to go into my Nvidia driver settings to lock FO4 to 60 fps so things stop flying off the shelves of my house when I fast travel

$185 in canada bucks is $245 not including shipping, I can get that asus monitor for $260 on ncix, which isn't too much less than 299 for the better benq one
