When I was younger, I was scared of one of the first levels in the original Spyro game (the level with the Sheppard and the big dogs/wolves, and everything was on fire, if my memory serves me right). I kept avoiding the level and generally being a little bitch about it, until my mother took the controller and beat it herself. It took her a few times, but she beat it.
Other than that, my father is only interested in sports games and he makes sure to let me know whenever he sees me playing anything.

It's pretty good. My dad takes more of an interest in vidya though, and will ask me about games he sees commercials for. He wanted to watch me play through the Black Ops III campaign, so even though I don't much like CoD, I downloaded it and played it while he watched. It was pretty fun.
Both are continuously amazed by the graphics. I showed my Dad Metro 2033 when it came out and he just stared at the screen for 5 minutes, then asked if he could look around. He stayed in the starting area, walking around, looking at stuff and being amazed for a good half hour.

My dad enjoys playing games. I remember him being dismayed about there being no cheat programs to use on PS3/360 as his skills are pretty shitty. When Max Payne 3 came out, he really wanted to play it so I started to find cheat programs for PC's. After finding a site that has all the game trainer cheat programs, I downloaded a bunch so now he has a bunch of new stuff to play (and he's been loving them). He fucking loved Max Payne 3 and demanded what other games he could play he might like. He doesn't like sandbox games, he just loves games where he has an arsenal and a target so stuff like Singularity, Resident Evil and so on. Definitely gonna get him rise of the tomb raider when it comes out.
He doesn't enjoy stealth games nor any platinum type games but we have similar game tastes.
