Its a pretty good game where the core gameplay is dodging projectiles. But what separates it apart from other games is the story which many found to be quirky and sad. The soundtrack is also pretty good. /v/ hates it because undertale threads were going on longer than /v/ liked. It violated the 1 month rule and everyone started getting pissed off. Now people just shitpost about it but with that being said, there wasn't any reason to have threads for the game after a month on /v/. There was nothing left to discuss. But for the first 15 days that it came out there was no shitposting and I think many people here actually liked it secretly.

I was one of those people that thought it looked fucking awful judging from the screenshots and what people were telling me about it. But then I ended up playing it and really enjoying myself.

The game is fucking shit, I completed it 100% by killing all the monsters and there is basically only 2 bosses, the rest is piss easy. And when you beat the super hard nazi skeleton you get a fucking shit ending where some dude named "Robert" (strangely that's also my name) steals your soul or something.

I actually like the soundtrack too, but there are still far better ones from this year. My opinion of it was significantly lowered after going back and listening to more soundtracks for games that use similar sounds and then realizing how much better those are.

I can chill with most of your post, but this point right here is literally something the game deconstructs. It looks down on you for violence, no matter how small or insignificant, especially if you're doing it "because it's a game" or "just to do it". You're told very early on to not kill anything.

Like it or not, the movie was successful because of Jack and Rose's relationship. The audience cares about Jack (they are supposed to at least). The real event is just the setpiece. Jack and Rose's story could be told in any setting. Their fictional romance is what people cry about.

I don't think anyone minds legit criticism, it's shit like "meme game" and "tumblrtale" that mean nothing.
I disagree about dialogue being tiresome, but I agree wholeheartedly that Alphys' interruptions are a massive lowpoint for Hotland/The Core and should be skippable as is much of the dialogue in the game if you do a Normal Reset. And I never thought about it, but yeah, it's pretty similar to Alia. Even if it's played off as comedy, it's pretty obnoxious on susbequent playthroughs.
I think the game has a point about killing though, you came to this land and just murdered the first thing you saw. It makes perfect sense in the game world, as you're in a land entirely populated by monsters.
I agree with the visuals and I feel like there's a major lack of consistency in how they look, especially some of the boring two-tone backgrounds. Snowdin looks great, and some parts of Hotland and Waterfall look great, but some areas look like ass, and Frisk's sprite needed work.
