Varmint rifle if you want low power but light and plentiful ammo, and its unique version was capable of gettinf 100% crit chance
Hunting rifle if you want good damage with semi-rare ammo and good weapon condtion and highest scope magnification, it's unique version rewarded you with higher damage in exchange for no scope
Sniper rifle for slightly less damage and shitty weapon condition but faster rate of fire and silencer, unique version was a straight upgrade but without the silencer
AM rifle for highest damage but rarest, heaviest (gun was pretty heavy too) and most expensive ammo and slowest rate of fire
Now in 4 it's
Either pipe shit no one uses because its inferior in every way or hunting rifle in 3 calibers, no reason not to use 50 because lol no weight
Uniques are straight upgrades instead of trade offs and you need to grind for them instead if finding them
