It basically just blurs textures, for example Dark Souls 1 had amazingly detailed armors but you can't really see it in-game because the FXAA blurs it all making all those details kind of pointless. The good thing is that it's extremely light on the hardware

Fucking this. Unless they actually have an excuse for this bullshit, this garbage should never appear in a video game.
And I mean if they have a really good excuse, like ARMA III and lens flare. If you're in first person view, there's no lens flare, but if you switch to third person CAMERA, you get lens flare.
So the only real use of Chromatic Aberration would be if you're using a damaged camera, like it is part of the "you damaged / taking damage" effect.
