I'm glad the bundle seems to be moving, but hopefully they'll learn their lesson next time and not deliver a holocaust tier launch. It was Nintendo Land (great game, IMO), NSMBU less than a month after NSMB2 and a ton of ports. Thank god Ubisoft are so good at wanting to support everyone and had ZombiU out at launch as well. I waited in line for 6 1/2 hrs to get my two cheap 48inch and 55inch tvs at best buy. PS4's were fucking sold out in the 40mins that I waited in the check out line.
From the stacks that I could see, Xbones were slightly moving, Wii u's were at a stand still and PS4's were sold out. Wii U's will still sell but it isn't people's primary choice. I remember the Dreamcast getting a boost in sales too because the PS2's were sold out back in the day.

Well, I worked black friday last night at walmart.
At the end of the night, around 4am when the crowds where nonexistent and we started moving the unsold shit out of the isles and condensing them all onto single pallets, the systems sold looked like this.
We had about the same amount of Wii U's as Xbones (give or take 20+ units, it wasnt a noticeable difference) and about 2/3rds the amount of ps4's as the others (so for every 10 Wii U's, there was 7 PS4's, more or less).
We opened the doors at 6pm. We where sold out of ALL ps4's by 8:30 (not just the black friday combo either. All of them). We had maybe 10 Wii U combo's left, 0 amiibo's and we even sold out of the mario maker Wii U combo, despite it not being on black friday sale.
Xbone didnt even sell out the original pallet we put out. We still had atleast 4 more pallets in the back. I saw most of them being sold around the 12-1am time when the very late shoppers came and found out the ps4 was sold out and just sorta bought one reluctantly (not sure why).
Ps4 and Wii U buyers also bought shit with it. PS4 plus cards, amiibo's, an extra controller, 1 or 2 games from the black friday sale for their new console, etc. The xbone owners didnt buy jack with it. They would walk up to us, ask if we had any ps4's in the back, and when we said no, all we had was a very few Wii U's and those xbox ones's over there, they would do a heavy sigh, walk around looking around electronics, and then put one in their cart with reluctance and just walk towards the front. I saw very few people during the mad rush between 6-9 buying one.
Im no fan of the xbone, but I thought it would atleast outsell the Wii U.
Im not even sure why they would buy an xbone if they came in for a ps4.

Nintendo made the Wii, which was a very successful console, however, they made it a shovel ware console almost exclusively. Third party games didn't sell on the system and traditional gamers found it severely lacking on the whole for game to play. It had some exclusives that were fun, but not many, and it was marketed on a gimmick and it didn't really exploit the very gimmick it was marketed on well.
So, non-traditional video game players ate that shit up, however, their attention is fleeting and they didn't buy the new console because 'We just bought a Wii not too long ago' is the usual mindset for non-gamers.
So, who was supposed to buy these new systems? The traditional gamers who were shunted by the last console nintendo made? Nope. They got burned and the Wii U is already known as a gimmick like the last console was so they won't get the multiplat and third party support they want. The non-gamers? They aren't buying another console again so soon. So, nobody bought the Wii U. Then Nintendo straight up announces a new console and the Wii U is ignored utterly from that point forward.

I saw probably 50+ Mario 8bit amiibo, and tons of copies of Splatoon. They had videogames both in the regular section and the meat section. The games in the regular section were completely cleared out for PS4 and Xbone. Wii U looked to be almost full, looked like it wasn't even Black Friday.
In the meat section, they had more games, but still many were sold out. Tons of Wii U games and a fuckton of Mario 8bit amiibos were still there.
Hard to tell the consoles because I don't know how much stock they started with, but I saw no one even looking at or walking with a Wii U. Just a lot of PS4s and some Xbones.

The issue is simply do I want to play games now, or 2 years from now when I've lost interest in them, and finally purchase the last part of the system I conceptualized now, because I can't play games now with a pile of individual PC parts that will be outdated 2 years from now. I can play them now with is a PS4.
