good video game. I believe at this point I've sucked out all the replay value by making virtually every conceivable build.
Cursed DBS with cracked talisman of beasts is still my favorite character to play.
Question: do you think having mana was a good thing? Pretend that item duping doesn't exist.

The design of the art is alright, I like that they added the Nexus symbols and stuff, and I actually think the red case is cool.
I could do without that shitty "gamestop best of the year" bullshit ruining the cover though.
Nintendo's best seller designs are more elegant and pleasant to the eye I think.

DBS + clever rat + morion blade = 1,500+ attack and another +40% from cracked talisman curse.
Add a +10 Longbow with heavy arrows for around 600+ damage per arrow and you're covered both long range and short range.
Most enemies die in one blow and bosses take a few.

At least, I remember they were during the SNES/GB/N64 time (the "Player's Choice" editions).

Crescent Falchion at start of 4-1 on the ledge and get it to +5 if you can. Also get the Dragon Short Sword in 2-2 worm caves, and get it to +5 as well, it will do wonders even in NG. Remember that fire makes humanoid enemies hit stun like crazy and you can basically keep them locked forever. also good on maneater.

This was the only Souls' game I considered good considering it actually felt like a RPG somewhat.
Plus the Effects on weapons you could get were ballin' as fuck.

I don't think SL1 runs are done for fun alone. self-imposed challenges are always about making it hard for yourself and you have to accept that.

Ugh I have this version. Why do they make these shitty red box versions? The original edition even had a cool ass concept art of Dragon God on the inside of the cover that was visible when you open the box. I don't know if the red version does as well but the red box is not transparent.

once I learned how it worked, it just made me suicide in nexus all the time and always play in soul form, because getting pure black was easy, pure white only if you never died or got invaded a ton.
I like the idea of world tendency, not as much the implementation. Character tendency at least, I think, is a better idea than how a similar idea was done in DS2.
I really liked playing DeS but the only thing deterring me from playing again is the Tendency system, both character and world

Soul Tendency is hard to manipulate nowadays with almost no one playing, but you can still get pure white in one game by killing each unique black phantom in each world.
World tendency is really easy to manipulate if you're playing offline, to the point where you can get each world to both pure white and black within a single game, I've done it myself. You do it like this:
>kill bosses in each stage up to before the last one and never die in body form, now you're at pure white.
>do all the white events
>kill and revive yourself with stones 7 times in a row to get pure black
>play through level again and kill both the primeval demon and unique BP, setting your world tendency to white
>kill final boss and be at pure white again
It takes some work but is doable, plus after the five BPs you're at pure white soul. If you want to cheese your way through the fights use soul remains.

Also, I forgot to mention that you *need* to kill both the primeval demon and BP in a single run, otherwise your world tendency will improve and one or the other will disappear, preventing you from getting pure white again.

Never went mage in Dark Souls because I didn't like the magic system. Sure, mana was stupid in Demon's and had its flaws, but it was a lot more fun. Limited castings is a snore.

If they ever make a HD remaster of this game,one thing they should do is improve item description.
Most items have no lore at all.after playing Bloodborne i got spoiled with little piece of lore everywhere.
