Daily reminder every game after Fallout 1 was non-canon and had a shit setting.
>>
>>318029874
I bet you really like 4 and 3
>>
>>318029874
More like every game before F4 had a try-hard brown post-apocalyptic shit setting with shitty "grey" and evil factions and a storyline more keked up than warhammer 40k
>>
>>318029943
I didn't care for them, they are like badly written fanfics. It is as if the Bethesda writers were truly retarded.

> Grey and evil factions

Confirmed for never playing the only game in the series.

Go yell > MUH SHAUN outside faggot.

I played Fallout 1-4 for the first time this year and I agree with the OP. Fallout 2 was fanfiction tier with crashed Star Trek ships, Tom Cruise, etc. Fallout 3 and 4 are a new setting, nothing like Fallout 1.
>>
Agreed

The Fallout 1 circlejerk will never die
>>
>>318033309
>crashed Star Trek ships, Tom Cruise, etc.
fallout has always been campy as fuck with tons of pop culture references. there's nothing they're real "fan fictions" of, they're more period pieces.
>>
>>318030106
Enjoy your Call of Duty knock-off with Project Zombie elements.

>>318029874
>I and only I decide what is canon and what is not !

How can i play this on mac

That's hilarious considering the BoS are literally space marines in 4

That's all you need to know, really.

Maybe its nostalgia (i played F2 first), but I liked fallout 2 more than 1.

Stuff like getting the Highwayman, getting thrown out of Vault City for saving Gecko, Accidentally bumping into Rhombus in the BoS and being expelled, encountering your first heavy weapons after like 4 hours and getting rekt- these are great moments that remember extremely well, and really made me feel like i wasnt the centre of the universe, and that I wasnt even close to being the strongest guy around.

The pop culture references never really irritated me, and i generally found them funny and inkeeping with Fallouts tongue in cheek aesthetic.

So yeah. IMO F2>F1

The fallout 1 entries on that page are incredibly tame and don't break the setting. Being 'influenced' by Mad Max is different from having Tom Cruise and Scientologists as a major faction like fallout 2

>Fallout 2 has an encounter with King Arthur.
>>
>>318033747
so what you're saying is that it's not a pop culture reference unless it's fucking huge and super noticeable?
weak

Fallout 2 is the more refined game I guess you could say in that there's a more controlled progression, it plays a lot like a modern game in that sense

Whereas Fallout 1 can teleport you straight to the final boss if you want and you don't know shit about where to go next

Ironically the "rawness" of Fallout 1 is why I prefer it over 2

name reference vs literally Star Trek ships in the game
is the distinction too subtle for you?
>>
>>318034210
are you seriously such a fun nazi that you're bitching about a star trek easteregg
fucking weak
go back to fallout 4, that's where you belong normie faggot
>>
>>318034210
The scope of the references is not relevant, the point is that Fallout has always been big on quirky easter eggs the developers throw in just for the fun of it and if you hate that part of it you're missing the whole point.

The game doesn't take itself seriously, and you shouldn't take it seriously.
>>
>>318033842
>>318034293
He's wrong about FO1 having no cultural references, but the point still stands about them being tame in comparison to FO2. FO2 went way too fucking far with the quirkyness and cultural references, it was almost a parody of the Fallout series and even Fallout 3 couldn't top it in that regard (the quirkyness), but at the same time FO2 still had a shitload more content.
>>
>>318034380
when there's more easter eggs than canon, it's called fan fiction
>>
>>318034478
>I don't know the meaning of the words "fan" and "fiction"

Is it worth playing the 2D Fallout games now?

My only experience with them is that Fallout 2 MMO.
I spent 40 minutes shoveling shit and when I finally went and got a BB gun, the first shot was a critical fail and the thing exploded in my hands or something.
>>
>>318034909
>Is it worth playing the 2D Fallout games now?
they're still fun
pick them up on steam, they're like 6 bucks for the whole bundle
>>
>>318035101
>pick them up on steam, they're like 6 bucks for the whole bundle
Why give Bethesda money for a product that they had zero fucking involvement in?
>>
>>318035909
are you one of those faggots that whines about companies and shit to justify piracy?
>>
>>318035960
I purchase games when I feel the developer deserves the money for creating that game, as it stands though, none of my money ends up going to the original developers so I absolutely zero fucking reason to buy it.
>>
>>318033503
I once found a stealth boy in Godzilla's footprint.
>>
>>318035909
just before Bethesda gained the rights to Fallout 1, 2 and tactics, they gave them away for free on GOG anyway
just pirate them unless you feel bad about owning them illegitimately
>>
>>318037313
>just pirate them unless you feel bad about owning them illegitimately
That's pretty much I was encouraging.
>>
>>318037439
was only reinforcing the fact that you shouldn't give them your money mr anon
