This dlc is basically you with an even stronger magnet than DS2 if that's possible vs spinning enemies that will almost always hit you.
Those well giants are the absolute worst. I just can't beat them. I had much less trouble with maria than them. Ng plus 3 or whatever doesn't help but still, I've never had so much trouble with a non boss enemy. They make BP skeletons look like pushovers.
Also those axe guys are terrible for magnet spinning too but at least you can run by them.

Tried like 20 times on NG+ but was barely getting anywhere and my attacks were just tickling him because I had a shit build. Realized that even if I did beat him the following bosses would just be plain not fun and would take longer so I re-loaded by end game save to do a non NG+ run.
Still took like 5-6 ties. Like others have said his first form is kind of bullshit and the tracking on some of his attacks are insane. First time I got him to his second form I almost beat him but one of the energy waves knocked me into a corner and I couldn't dodge the second one and died.

Calling it now, Church Pick is the best weapon hands down.
It isn't glowy and flamey and spiky so everyones overlooking it, but it has by far the best moveset.
It's basically swag sword but heavier and turns into a fast black knight halberd. It's transforms are insanely fucking fast. It's almost a straight upgrade to the hunters axe in every way.
Too bad it's a skill weapon.

Laurence is really throwing me off with his tracking. He'll be facing a summon while I'll be at his back hitting him. Then naturally while swinging at a summon he spins all the way around to 2 shot me.
I just want the beast emblem but this Cleric Beast rip off is just bullshit. I know Cleric Beast didn't have this cheap of tracking.

One really fucking cool thing From did was surprise us with it. They had shown the Ludwig boss fight early in the playable DLC at the reveal for PlayStation Experience etc but they only showed Ludwig's first phase. People killed Ludwig and he never underwent the transformation. So guys who had seen the DLC gameplay reveal had no fucking idea about phase 2, and then it happened and it blew us all the fuck away.

Every boss pretty much two-hits me. Got help for Ludwig and did it in two or three attempts, living failures was a fucking nightmare because of all of the shit they gangbang you with, and now I'm stuck on the fucking edgelord Maria.
The new areas are incredible but I'm really not enjoying this whole "let's make the boss gangbang you with AoEs" shit but it's too much work to start a new character or anything. Might just sell the game and wait for DS3.

I wqs originally using the transformed version of pizza cutter, the thing I changed up was I started using the base staff weapon. Also I started running more towards him during the fight. When he did his lightning bolts o ran all the way to the fog gate l, and it never reached that far. When he does his spit magic and jumps, don't roll away, roll towards him. He spits away from him and you'll always get caught.

Think about the elevator up to the Astral clocktower.
Think about maybe what happens if that elevator were to rise if you were not on it.

The elevator to the research hall. Ride it back down, then send it back up and jump off of it. You'll see the head. After grabbing it, pull that lever to make the elevator come back down and jump on the platform with the head for a hidden weapon

I'm on NG+4 and didn't really have a hard time on any of the bosses. Was able to beat them within 2 tries, I do have some pretty crazy bloodbgems. 3 +30% damage with the only negatives being increased stamina costs so I was doing 700 per hit with a +10 cleaver. The only boss I had issues with was Laurence, fuck Laurence

Go to the Forbidden Woods and join his covenant. He's in the tower near the first lamp. Then equip the Impurity rune and go behind the spot by the two crows sitting near the gate where you can farm 5 blood vials in the DLC area. The one by the two giants.

You have to join the covenant and equip the ruin first. Hes a summon exclusive to the league/confederate covenant. You find him right before the boss fight with Ludwig. Its hidden behind a rock and a couple of crows

Honestly I felt the best beating Ludwig and the Living Failures, but I enjoyed Maria's fight more.
It's in a fucking badass clocktower, she's a human boss and doesn't transform,it's basically a fight against the doll, why are Fromsoft so based when it comes to DLC? DS1 DLC was great, DS2 DLC was better than most of the game, BB DLC is amazing so far.
I've just started exploring the area after her, so I'm just going to assume the bosses from now on are just gonna fucking rape me, right?
