the awards are most likely already decided. Only developers confirmed to win an award will be present as well. So if you see Kojima then expect MGSV to win a bunch of awards. TW3 will probably win most of the awards but lose GOTY to MGSV.

Between Bloodborne and Witcher 3, I dont mind which takes the gold, they were both good and either being put above the other wouldnt upset me, I have no idea how Mario Maker is on that list though, it was unremarkable.
Developer should be KojiPro because they did an excellent job putting the game together, even if Kojima fucked the story. Anything in the indie that is Ori or Rocket League are fine by me, I still dont see why Undertale is held in such high praise, dont get me wrong it was a good game, but I simply cant see why its treated like some kind of benchmark.

Hollywood soundtracks are by and large far more complex and award worthy than your vidya chiptunes, mate. They just tend to be used once or twice in the odd scene, rather than drummed through your head again and again while you complete a level or traverse an area like vidya music is, so they don't stick in your mind as much unless you go out of your way to listen to them again.

I seriously don't know how it happened, but starting with Skyrim it's basically set in stone that every Elder Scrolls and Fallout game will get the GOTY award. They get so much fucking hype and always immediately get the "must play" status after their announcement.
