The opening of the game is greatly revised and shortened. I replayed it recently and even though I was going through it at a pretty quick pace, it took me 1 hour before anything of importance happened (i.e. the first time you turn into Wolf Link). This should happen in the first 20 minutes.

Hero Mode, this is a huge must as the laughable action difficulty is TP's most glaring flaw.
Maybe an option to skip over some of the opening, but that part is also kind of crucial in establishing the setting and characters.
Can't think of anything else. WWHD had so many little fixes that considerably improved the game, but I don't think TP has those problems.
Was the opening really that bad? I played through TP recently for the first time and I didn't even notice that it was somewhat slightly long. I liked exploring the little village.

That's a pretty big problem with 3D Zelda in general, really. The Clawshots get about as much use as the Hookshot, The bow/boomerang are a bit better than usual because of Bomb Arrows and the wind making the boomerang a bit more relevant, everything else gets used once or twice to collect rupees/heart pieces as usual too.

I think that the problems that plague TP are not going to be fixed with an HD update. The removal or complete streamlining of the opening sequence, improved/expanded wolf controls, segmentation of Hyrule field, and overall artstyle are just too much for a simple coat of paint to solve.
