Does it run well?

Black Flag ran well on my PC, this runs like absolute shit. They've managed to fuck it up again. I'm glad I didn't pay for it. I haven't even got to the open world yet.
>>
>>317626890
Runs well.

You'll need a very good computer to max everything though. I wanted to play on my laptop but it could barely handle it so I had to install on my desktop.

Not that it's saying much but it's probably the best ac game yet.
>>
>>317626995

Thank you anon, you saved me 30$

Will there ever be an AC as good as Black Flag again?

Not as bad as Unity but it still hits performance harder than it should

I had some problems on day one but now it runs fine on very high settings minus msaa and pcss. I have noticed that i get some fps drops when driving a carriage fast but for the most part i have a stable 60 with the occasional dip to 55 at certain moments.

I think that it is pretty fun. I haven't played any assassins creed games in a while but it is fun to run around i London and the main duo is charming enough.

Runs pretty good, it's actually really fun. The grapple hook's a bit shit, but they really went to town with the fact that you can run on moving shit now. There's tons of boats, trains, cranes, you can jump between carriages in the middle of fights, shit's fun as fuck.

Story so far is shit, but the two protags are likeable enough to carry it. Gameplay's standard AC fare. Combat's easier than Unity, but has weird levelling now so enemies are bullet sponges. London is pretty. No prostitutes though because LAMO

Game's pretty fun though, I really like the way they've done London, and the combat is actually pretty good compared to your normal AC.

Ubisoft redeemed itself with that one. Runs great, in 6 hours I had a few hangups but that's because my PC is shit.

That's not really that true. Unity ran like shit because it tried for too much. Other than that they've been mostly ok.

This time around they nuked the dick out of the lod and everything farther than 30 ft away in london is a mess to get it running at decent settings. They really need to stop with open worlds imo. The intro level was gorgeous throughout and ran great even on an i3/270x combo.

I am not a big fan of it. It is alright but it is just very simplistic . Mash attack and then use counter or break guard when you need to. I also find it a bit spammy since some of the guys you meet can take a beating before going down.

I do like that they have added guns. I am not sure how it was in previous games but when i am up against a larger amount of enemies then i am almost forced to use my gun somehow to make their numbers more bearable.

Game is pretty fun.
I pirated it but I regret that now.

Can't wait for December to get the Jack The Ripper story.
>>
>>317626890
Well it runs far better than Unity, it still has some occasional graphical glitches but you can just reload the sequence. Also the graphics card requirement for this game is lowered by a one tier.
>>
>>317629462
>Fulham
>London

That's like saying Belgravia is London.

I did like how the game starts in Croydon and the Templars essentially say "you're waging your grand crusade against us in Croydon?".
>>
It runs better than Unity because the graphics have been toned back

Cloud Shadows were ripped out & the lighting overall was scaled back, it can look very flat compared to Unity at times, but it has to reach 30fps on Consoles so you get that
>>
>>317626890
Yeah I got it for like 25 bucks. Running it with a meme card and it's running surprisingly well, muuuuch better than unity. The combat is also much more satisfying.

Only bizarre thing is sometimes animations on clothing (for the player character, not NPC's) run at 30 fps. I'm unsure if this is a bug or intended to make the game run better, but it's incredibly jarring when everything else is running at 60. It also only happens sometimes, and not even in graphically intensive area's.

Oh please don't buy this game. I find it really fucking lame. I'm not a big fan of the series, but my falt mate has it and she seems to like it a lot. I try hard not to point out every flaw, but like most ubi games it has been turned into a cash cow.

Why people continue to buy ubi games is beyond me. I mean everything seems to have been made up as fast as possible without any attention into creating a setting that feels reak.

Don't get me wrong, the city is beautiful and they put a lot of effort into the historical accuracy, but that's about it.

tl;dr: Be ready to open your asscheeks unless this is what you really like

With the ever increasingly vocal SJWs, and having been called out how does Ass Creed get away with having the same male protagonist every game?
>>
I don't know what this anon is on about >>317626995 because it actually doesn't run that bad. You'll need a good rig to play it on max settings since obviously it's a ubisoft game so it doesn't run super smooth, but it doesn't run bad at all. My PC is shit and it runs pretty decent with low settings.

It's certainly no Unity which was practically unplayable on even the best rigs. At least this one actually runs okay.

Gameplay wise it's just an AC game, some steps forward on some mechanics and some steps backwards on others, typical ubisoft shit. Evie is pretty cool. It's better and more fun than Unity and AC3. Not as great as AC2 or Black Flag.

Wait until you start learning a bit about nineteenth century London, you'll see that it's really not. Unbelievably lazy, and also incredibly French Canadian in its outlook and infantile understanding of well-understood institutions and systems actually work.

It's one of the best AC's, definitely in my top 3. It beat Brotherhood for me.

It's immensely fun, Industrial London is by far the best setting to date. It's so beautiful and so detailed and most of all feels very alive.

The protagonists are pretty damn likeable as well, cheeky cunts. The story? It's one of these cases where you either like it or just think it's shit. I liked it, but I understand why some may not love it. It's written by Far Cry 3's/Brotherhood's writer.

If you like AC, this one's really great. The PC port is better than Unity's, but then again this doesn't mean much. It's "eh, ok", like most AC ports.

so.. quick question: I have read a bit of spoilers her and there and know that you are going to play as a descendant of Evie or Jacob.

In the animus lore or whatever you might call it, you go back though past lives by DNA right? So you follow either your mother or fathers line and so on and on.

If we can follow both Jacob and Evie.. does that mean that this is a bit..erm.. Lanister-esque?
>>
Anyone know where the save data is for ACS the XaTaB repack.
>>

>>317634249
No, Unity introduced the Helix. It's essentially the customer version of the Animus, updated. You only need the DNA now to view the genetic memories.

They just somehow managed to get DNA of someone from Jacob's side and someone from Evie's side and uploaded it to the Helix's servers, allowing you to switch.

So, the AC cycle has yet again proven itself.

The city itself is drawn from the actual maps and look of the districts is based on the period if it's still like it was in Unity and if I'm not mistaken.

aww shit son. Looks like I will be playing this as Jacob in his Sherlock suit and with a swordcane. This looks pretty good

Literally all I want to know is if the running is as bad as it is in unity. Where trying to jump to a specific part on a wall was impossible and getting through a window was retarded.

Don't know about the PC version but the PS4 version ran flawlessly for me (unless you count the 30fps lock).

Syndicate isn't broken at all, much less anywhere near as bad as Unity was.

They actually fixed (almost) the engine, this runs like Black Flag, you're going to have a FPS drop while driving carriages at max speed though.

Its a lot better than unity. They completely fixed entering windows now you just press L1/LB and you automatically jump into them when you are close enough.

Overall this really is the best AC since 2.

Syndicate is actually pretty good as far as AC goes. Best AC since 2, I'd say.

But if you don't like/care about AC in general, Syndicate will do nothing to change your mind.

It's vastly superior to Unity in every way though. That's inarguable.

it's like AC3 all over again. performance is alright but the visual sacrifices made to achieve it are disgusting. wish they had stuck with whatever engine version black flag used. story is garbage, combat is garbage, the only good parts of the game to be completely honest are the zipline use and the sequence end assassinations.
>>
>>317640273
All AC games use the same engine.
>>
>>317639993
The worst thing about Unity was how broken it was. The story was bland and went nowhere. The game itself, on the rare occasion that it functioned properly, was fun.
>>
>>317626890
I can run battlefront on max, I have to run this on low

pretty fun though
>>
>>317640413

but not the same version, friend. black flag and rogue used anvilnext, unity and syndicate use anvilnext 2.0 (lel).
>>

I guess we should be worried if we were to get that asian inspired AC.
I wonder how they would screw it up...
>>
>>317640424
I played it on the latest update and I only ran into a game breaking bug once. The game was really only unplayable on release day.
>>
>>317640212
It just so happened that the team working on that game was the one in charge of making a new engine too.

All AC games (except AC1, imo) that use new engines fucking suck. It's only the second game using the new engine that turns out to be really damn amazing.

See AC2, AC4 and now Syndicate.

Except Unity had a far better combat system. Unity actually had they best combat since AC2. And Unity still looks way better than Syndicate.
>>
Am I only one that didn't really like AC4? It's not bad but all the pirate stuff is really boring because it's so repetitive.
>>
>>317640938
That's because Unity completely prebaked all the lighting and why Unity only has four different times of day. Syndicate has a full 24 hour day.

Although for some reason in Syndicate time stops unless you or the camera are moving. If you go sit buy a shadow and stare at it for while it won't move but then if you move the camera away and then back at it it will move.
>>
>>317640938
Unity's combat system wasn't anything to write home about and Unity only looks good indoors.

Who cares about the combat system in AC games anyway.

People like you are the reason AC games will never be good. I bet you just love the piss easy kill streaks and counters kills of older AC games.
>>
>>317640938
>And Unity still looks way better than Syndicate.
But at what cost?

AC has always been fine graphically, it doesn't need to look super photo realistic. Black Flag looked fine. Then after Black Flag they wanted to "go gen next" so they completely overhauled their shit with Unity and look at the complete disaster that turned out to be. Yeah it looked nice but it's so broken it's practically unplayable even to this day unless you have a super rig. I don't give a shit how good a game looks if it's going to run like complete shit.

Syndicate at least runs somewhat okay while still looking fine. That's all that it needs and it's all that matters.
>>
>>317641598
I have a phenom II and a 960 and I got 40-50 fps on unity on high settings. The performance only really goes to shit if you use AA or the nvidia gameworks stuff.
>>
>>317641543
No, I don't. AC's combat system was never good and has always been piss easy. Unity's isn't fucking hard.

If you think combat is the reason why AC "will never be good" then you have some unrealistic expectations. AC is a series that's hit and miss, and the combat was never at fault for these. The franchise is now what, 8 years old? AC's draw has never been the combat system. Its strengths lie elsewhere.
>>
>>317636714
The Sabotuer did fine but, yes I suppose meele would need to be scaled back. Meele was an option but, it was mostly for stealth kills and saving ammo.

Unity was heading in the right direction. They got rid of the kill streak and counter kills. Parry only knock the enemies back, not kill them. And they made the enemies more aggressive. It was choices that was good for the series. If they built on those, the combat could actually become decent.

But, because Unity was too hard for all the AC4 babies out there, Ubisoft got scared of losing the casual gamer's money and decided to rip of the Batman arkham game's combat to shitty results.

Unity was mess, but it was probably the first AC since 2 that was actually trying to innovate the game mechanics. But perhaps it is pointless because of what the AC fanbase is like now. So actually you're right. The Combat in AC games probably won't ever become deep. Not when faggots keep on holding on to older games as templates.
>>
>>317642910
Yeah, that's what I meant. There is not really a point to this. Believe me, I'd welcome better combat. But at this point, it'd be foolish to cling to to hope that it could get better.

Sorry anon.
>>
>>317641543
Dude unity's combat was "hard" because it was poorly designed. I don't like the super easy counter system but at least that was coherent.
>>
>>317635021
both black flag and rogue were great
>>
I preferred the instant-kill combat over Unity's. Syndicate is almost as good when combat skills are all leveled, but it's a pain to get to that point.
>>
>>317627784
I got the game for free with a 970 so I'm glad to hear this.
>>
>>317643371

>>
>>317635021
Red Dead, but worse, if they do it. I think they should probably avoid any time period where guns are a viable and effective weapon, unless they're looking to go TPS.
>>
>>317643962
Black Flag belongs to the every second game is good list.

Rogue is alright and doesn't count.
>>
>>317643962
I agree but I still didn't like them as much as the other AC games. They should have been made into their own thing not slapped into AC. Still great pirate games though probably the best ones made so far.
>>
>>317635021

Do they hint in syndicate? If so I will buy the game. I really want Desmond to come back. He's end was so shit and not deserving.

>>317646156
But when they tried to focus the story on him in 3 was when it all went to shit and then they followed it up with easily the best or second best game as soon as he was dead
>>
>>317646369
I think the parts that look best in this game and Unity is the way light reflects off cloth and leather, and sometimes when you're in an enclosed area and only a little bit of light is coming in it can look really good. But the majority of the time when you're running around in the streets it just looks weird.
>>
It runs perfectly for me on a 970. Whether it's fun or not is up to you. I think it's definitely one of the best ones yet.

Do you really want a spoiler? Ok, here it goes. Syndicate spoiler below. Consider yourself warned, cunts. It's big.

Desmond probably isn't going to come back, but there is a possibility for something completely different. You see, Desmond apparently had a son, born in 2005. He's ten years old now and a sage. He could be our new guy.
>>
>>317646760
The assassins are after the shroud because it can heal the most grievous wounds and potentially restore life.
>>
>>317626890
I think its fun. I have a Gtx 970 so it runs pretty well for me on very high. I think it's the best assassins creed yet.
>>
>>317646881
It only went to shit because they were trying to focus on him, Connor and the rest of the bloated shit that was happening in AC3. They rush it and threw him in so they could kill him off, so milking the series would be easier.
Desmond help give the series structure and importance. Every AC after 3 feels really pointless and forgettable.( save for a few moments in AC4.)
>>
>>317647584
The game states multiple times that it doesn't restore life. It's a misconception. It heals wounds, but also has some hardcore side effects.

Possible to run this at 1600x1200 on the absolute lowest settings with a Radeon HD 6850? I know it's below the listed minimum requirements, but there's been quite a few games released lately that play quite decently on my toaster despite that. GPU is the only area I'm lacking in incidentally.

Some random guy who is playing Subject 17s memories and is contacted by those two fucks from Desmond's crew. Same as Unity and Black Flag, but in Black Flag you could walk around in first person and do really shitty hacking minigames.

>>317648615

Abstergo took Desmond's body and milked it for all the DNA in him. Every game after 3 is just some random faceless voiceless player insert playing out the extracted memories.
