NG+ is not hard.
Given that the more important stat is improved, ie. stamina, you will be able to dodge anything enough times to deal with things you already know how to kill.
At most, bosses maybe take 30% more time to kill over 1st playthrough. Level a little and regular enemies will be the same a 1st playthrough.
The fact that you can dodge at a late game level in Yarhnam nearly breaks the game.

I think the first few bosses in ng+ were pretty hard. I had a pretty hard time with Vicar Amelia, Amygdala, Paarl and especially Shadow of Yharnam. However, just yesterday I fought Ebrietas and had to like maybe hit her 10 times maximum. So I guess the early scaling is good, but towards the end of ng+ it gets way too easy. But I also think that the difficulty in ng+ is a lot better than in the first playthrough. In my first playthrough, I beat about 70% of the bosses at first attempt.

Cleric Beast took 6 tries to put away, Amelia and Logarious around 4, 2 for Paarl and Great One.
The rest were relatively easy, i was surprised how the Wetnurse did nothing for me in terms of challenge by End Game.
In NG+ I get way too cocky and want to go toe to toe with them all the time.
I die once and then remember "Oh right, i need to dodge forward twice".... And then the boss is dead.
Gonna keep leveling to see where this gets me.

The difference between this game and most DLC's is that, for 20 bucks, you actually get an EXPANSION of the game.
Replay value is this game's biggest issue. With more areas and a ton more weapons that hopefully feel unique, this game suddenly becomes more fun to replay every now and then.
Sure, it doesn't have the build variety of Dark Souls, but that's okay to me. Since the game is also very fun by its own standards.
The reason why it deserves GOTY is because throughout the entire experience, the quality rarely dips. Almost every part of the game except chalice dungeons is well-made and nothing truly feels like a fucking chore. The snake forest is the only part of the game I dislike.

I went all the way out of my way just to not get this fucker hostile. I didn't even enter fucking Old yharnam. I skipped all the early game bosses entirely and took the quickest route to get to the unseen village, which means having to fight Rom and all that shit before even finishing the fucking starter area. Then, when I finally beat Paarl and climbed Djuras long ass stupid ladder, excitement in my eyes to be able to experience his dialogue, THE FUCKER IMMEDIATELY TURNED AND SHOT ME. I did not hurt any of the beasts, I just rushed straight to him. How the fuck did he get hostile.

PC players. DeS was comfy for those who enjoyed it, and then when DaS was shown to be multiplat it became "le uber hard gaem" and was a meme for being difficult. Then when PC players got a hold of it, the memes perpetuated. DaS2 was a clusterfuck, and between console players going "le hard gaem" and PC players memeing it up, DaS2 wasn't even worth the time. Then when BB was announced as a PS4 exclusive, PC players begged for it to come to PC and PS4 players were all "never ever".

I remember joking about the healing church tying slugs to sticks but this is just silly.
Started a new playthrough this weekend in preparation for the DLC, running a BT Chikage build now. It plays completely different compared to my previous playthrough, where I used LHB. I really struggled to beat Logarius with the Saw Cleaver and against those ghostly women in Cainhurst Castle, because Saw Cleaver did shit damage compared to LHB. But against bosses like Amelia or Cleric Beast, Saw Cleaver completely destroyed them.
So what are the weapon tiers not counting the DLC weapons? I'm pretty sure that LHB is top tier, now I'm curious how other weapons would compare.
After getting masters iron helm is there any point to crushing more vermin?

some guy from Soulbrandt (frostitutes, specifically) confirmed that the DLC gives you an upgraded Kin mode, that's analogous to the upgraded Beast mode that we saw in the trailer. if you have Kin mode active, that weapon turns into a pure ARC version of the Beast Claws, with your arms turning into tentacles, and DWGR-esque roll animations
