From what I've been hearing all the jobs and quests are part of various on-going storylines that end when you recruit all the pokemon. After you do that are there still jobs or can you only run dungeons.

I'm no major review site OP, but I'll give you my honest thoughts.
I'm a huge fan of the dungeon series, always have been, these are games I spent literal years playing even after they came out. (Blame low recruit rate and 99 floor dungeons.. I'm looking at YOU purity forest.)
Super is really good, Its not another Gates to infinity as everyone feared, they went in and did their best to bring it out to its fullest.
Story wise, its no PMD2. but its not that far below it either, the story is much simpler and down to earth like Red and blue were but still has a mass conflict brewing behind the scenes.
Game l;egnth is pretty good, main game is about 20 chapters with tons of post game afterwards.
The big, BIG difference though, is the new enema system. You get these looplets (Like scarves, ie pass scarf, sp att scarf in prev games) That allows you to stack up on temporary skills and buffs for the duration of the dungeon, which is pretty neat.
The pokemon themselves are actually no cake walk either, everything hits hard, and I mean hard. you can find yourself dead and out of reviver seeds in a matter of minutes in some of the earliest dungeons if you're not careful . enemies have been buffed quite a bit, and they've gotten much smarter.
The only real downside is recruitment ios based on quest now, if you do a quest for a client, you automatically recruit them. as opposed to grinding, the downside? Some of these recruits are like a l;evel 50 salamance, while you're still in your 10-15 phase. So its OP as heck.
Monster houses, stealing from keckleon, all the normal goodies are back.
I'd highly reccomend it OP. especially if you liked Blue/Red EoD/EoT/EoS

The sprites don't look that good if you look back imo fampai. The 3D models work really well for the emotion that's shown in Mystery Dungeon games. They can actually show Pokemon reacting and in distress or joyous.

i think since in these games you are in a village you get to make friends, instead of having your friends already made for you. Pokemon can never be as good as the Dun games.

if you pick a fire, avoid pikachu.
waters are a good pick since lots of maps have water for them to walk on. fire types can walk on magma but magma maps aren't as common.
grass types might be the easiest to become, with waters and then fire in terms of difficulty in progressing the story.
but then, which starter? not all waters/fires/grasses are treated equal.

if you're looking for a more versatile attack set maybe Oshawott? would imagine his razor clam attack is good.
