I know there's some contention in how the anime handled some story points, but would I really get my time's worth when I think the anime really hit the important emotional spots splendidly already? I dunno anons. I never got into Clannad at all really, but as far as the Kanon 2006 anime goes I absolutely fucking loathed and still loath the art style. Thought it was the most ridiculous genuinely off putting shit ever. Then I got a ways into it and suddenly realized I had actually kind of gotten through that and had actually gotten somewhat into it. The foxgirl arc genuinely pulled a bit at my cold, black heart.
It's no masterpiece as many claim, at least not to me, but I can't say any fairer about a work then it looks terrible and I go in expecting to hate it or literally disliking it at the start and just because I wanted to be able to shitpost about it later, and then it managed to turn my opinion around to mild respect.

I agree the ending was kinda shit and left me with a sour taste but when "it" happened I was goddamn wrecked. Ultimately I'm pretty sure everyone remembers the anime for that particular stretch of episodes that left most in a complete mess.
