Why is the STALKER franchise excused of having game breaking bugs, but FO 4 with just a bunch of non breaking shit isn't excused?

They never had gamebreaking bugs. Just tons of annoyances, at the launch. Majority of the issues were fixed a mere week or two afterwards, and CoP already was a very stable and smooth game, right out of the box.
I don't recall STALKER ever having the entire environment disappear. It hasn't made my character sink into the ground, or float in air, etc.

Plus, like said, the game was pretty much done by a tiny, borderline indie team, in Ukraine.

Both were made by russians on their own engine trying to make a simulation

Fallout 3d does not even try to be adventurous. Its Ai is non exisitant whereas Stalkers has its own life cycle

at best, SLAV CODE is "it just works" game breaking bug? Kill your NPC to make the game forward to your next mission, while its annoying to have save corruption on unpatched/release build of stalker. Even modded stalker can fix glitches and bugs you've made in rare occasions (didn't play the game until 3 days and saw my UI icons are fixed randomly as everything works)

Not to mention, if theres a game breaking bug in stalker theres always a work around, if not, it will be found and fixed if anything some of those are minor and does not hinder you from beating the game

Fallout 4 has a huge budget, and is a AAA game. Huge hype, huge market. The reason it has huge bugs is because they're using Gamebryo, one of the worst engines ever and because the devs are apathetic lazy and incompetent.

Both have crashing bugs. STALKER just has more game crash bugs. It's a good thing that I can look past bugs and enjoy myself with both of them for different reasons.

I honestly think that the non game/sequence breaking bugs in the games give the games a whole lot of charm. Not even angry at them, I just think "How could these chuckleheads keep that in? It's ridiculous!" It's like a little present the devs left there for people to laugh over.

You faggots need to stop with this meme, they actually had a big team and it took ages to complete the project, it was a insanely ambitious and they had a moderate budget for the time, if anyone here followed the builds you would know how much it changed over new builds, it was just completely insane out of this world how much it changed from build to build, at the end a world of content and features got cut because THQ pressured them and in good reason and timing, otherwise it would probably have become vaporware and could have even died.

the game had no excuses, nobody has an excuse to deliver a buggy mess if you actually charged people for your product, and STALKER was damn buggy on launch but the devs fixed their shit and at the end you have a very polished game sitting on top of a very complex engine.
Not that many western people would know, the international and western versions came out with 1.0004, it was the east that had to deal with 1.0000, holy fuck poor slavs.

Bethesda does not do this, they just release their mess and hope for the best, throw in one or two patches to fix easy stuff.

On topic: STALKER releases where buggy as fuck, remember they're also using a very odd engine and game scripting that can cause many problems, as it goes on for times stalker with bug reports and fixes as well with the community efforts trying to improve the game even to this day, I won't mention mods obviously its not part of the vanilla game.

Sheer love and passion for what they were doing.
Some of the devs that were working on STALKER were really fucking passionate and true vidya lovers, they would work slave hours without being able to afford meals some days, I even remember how one mentioned in a interview how Sergei "the pepsi man" owned like 3 cars and outside the studio in the parking lot those were the only cars ever parked and they never complained.
Sergei the pepsiman then closed the studio after release and a lot of them ended in Metro 2033.
I forgot the name of the main dude involved in the atmosphere but he was a true master, he was responsible for all the labs and was one of the main ones that went on to work in Metro.

Gamebryo itself isn't terrible. The problem is, Bethesda built Morrowind off of an unfinished beta version of the engine, and has simply been updating it from there. Oblivion, Fallout 3, New Vegas, Skyrim, and Fallout 4 all essentially are all essentially using the same engine as Morrowind, just with more shit added to it, which is why it's an unstable, buggy mess.

How? It plays like it's two decades old.

It's got poor weight and jumping so you can't climb around creatively, constantly get hitched small pieces of the terrain, and the graphics haven't aged well. The only thing that stands out is the lighting in tunnels.
