Normal if it's a genre I'm not used to
Hard if something I usually play
Hardest when I'm replaying a game and I love the gameplay.

Fuck you

Depends on what the extra difficulty does. If it makes the enemies smarter and do new stuff I crank it up, if it just makes them damage sponges I keep it on normal or wherever combat doesn't feel like a chore.

I use a cheat code to unlock "ARGH MY SHOULDER" difficulty.

BOYNEXTDOOR
>>
Easiest setting for me.

I play games for their story, not gameplay.
>>
Lately I always play the hardest, I never play a game two times so I prefer to have a nice challenge the only time I'll play it. Besides, if you start on hardest difficulty you get used to it and it doesn't seem that hard as the game advances.

You know what I like.

In MGS games? Always the easiest. It breaks my immersion if the legendary snake gets caught by the very first guard because i'm too unskilled to play properly. also i care more about the story than the gameplay / difficulty.

i know you guys love to brag about your skill and everything, but who fucking cares. i'm not good in videogames and i don't want to be, i'm still able to enjoy playing them and i think theres much more important skills IRL than playing videogames.

Keep telling yourself that

you're casual, go play some bullshit phone game
>>
>>316820396
Normal because that's how the game was designed to be played. At least if the developers are competent.
>>
>>316822303
No, OP asked me.

keep telling yourself that you're such a super skilled progamer. i bet bitches love your gamerscore.
>>
>>316822427
Are you under the impression you have to program the game at difficulties higher than easy?
>>
>>316822058
Hey buddy I think you got the wrong door. The leather stores a few blocks down

why would i? i can still enjoy my core games on easy difficulty settings.

>he doesn't play on motherfucker
>>
>>316822480
No, but losing isn't fun. winning is.
>>
Depends what it is.

Modern FPS - Hardest
Classic FPS - Normal-Hard depending on the game
Horror - Hardest
Action/adventure - Varies depending on the game. If it just adds tedium like Nier did then I'll play on easy or normal.
Platinum games - Normal and progress from there
MGS games - Easy and then the hardest
Yakuza games - Normal and then Ex Hard
>>
>>316822629
winning isnt fun if its handed to you on a plate
>>
>>316822734
Well, to me it obviously is. Guess i'm lucky

What book do you have to be constantly fighting enemies, platforming, solving puzzles while you read?
>>
>>316823067

None of them. Are you arguing with yourself now?
>>
>>316823126
So why are you equating books to winning in a video game?

THE BOSS OF THIS GYM EXTREME
>>
If I'm not familiar with the genre, normal.
In case it's a game with a heavy exploration value I normally go with normal, too.
For anything else, the hardest available.
>>
I play Bethesda games on novice
Metal Gears on normal
Slashers on normal and then max scores on max difficulties
FPS on easy, I suck at this genre.
