As someone who has some 210 pink gear from Diadem sitting in the inventory. The chances of getting gear that wont fuck you in the end is pretty low. Yeah, the randomized 101 Crit hit rate and 99 Det on a 210 chest piece is nice, but means fuck all when it has no accuracy and I'm unable to wear it because I'd lose the accuracy on my chest and be unable to hit the caps for savage and Thordan EX. Goes double as DRG and you need 590 Skill Speed for your BoTD rotation.

I played for the 5 months between 3.0 and 3.1.
I kept that flame burning with various tasks; leveling alts, farming glamour pieces, etc. then 3.1 drops it was just so blah it's completely snuffed out my enthusiasm.
I just can't be fucked logging in any more.
Doesn't help that I've been disconnecting intermittently recently. The aforementioned Diadem run involved me getting a 90002 error before collecting the aether points, a 3102 error that kept me logging in for 10 minutes, having to have the tank carry my ass until I collected to the nodes, flying all the way to the other end of the map, then BZZZT another 90002.
How does FFXIV manage to have so many good side stories, but have the main characters be such boring little shits?
The Scions and the leaders are fucking terrible nothing characters.
Meanwhile Crystal Tower had a good story, Coil had a good story, Beast Tribes have good stories, Hildibrand was amazing, Void Ark looks really promising and even Alexander MIGHT turn out decent. The only time the MSQ got really fucking good was when they ditched the Scions and gave up the Heavensward cast/journey.

There's no mechanics, very little incentive (it always drops a gold chest as soon as you start losing hope) and its borderline insanity when you can just whack a star rank monster while 5 others whack on 24 people at the same time.
