The game was more serious than edgy. There was a lot more comedy even in the campaign script than expected. While I'd definitely have preferred something more in the strain of the entire rest of the series that basically made war into happy fun time, it was still a nice change of pace.
The balance and system changes the game introduced were also excellent and just need another game release to tweak them.

Realistically the 9k price point for the Japanese version is $90, it's only over the past two years following Abe's economic plans that the yen has weakened so much against foreign currencies and you see the strength the dollar has over the yen. Favorite series that I dropped with Awakening. I'm sorry, infinite levels/reclassing and infinite grinding and OP pair-up removed any sense of difficulty from the series. The only time Awakening is hard is if the numbers are big enough, whereas take a game like Sacred Stones (hard mode) or Thracia, where the stats cap at 20 for every unit, and it was still difficult because you had to actually think ahead a bit before moving a unit 2 spaces forward, a bit like chess in that regard.
Also, and I realize this is subjective, I hated the art style of Awakening. Yes, the series has been through several different styles, but I find this the least fitting, and too "funny," it ruins the atmosphere, makes the amazing music in Awakening mean less.
Is Fates an improvement? I hear that Hoshido is easier than Awakening, and that makes me sad because I WANT this series to be good again.

You can grind on any mode on the world map, and you can repeat chapters too. I played it on Hard (should have been normal) and Lunatic. Lunatic+ is taking the whole RNG thing to a new level.

Why? Not only censored, but the localization is beyond terrible, the support conversations are completely different, and the characters don't even act closely to what they were in Japan. So why bother rating a game 'T' or 'M' if your going to cut the very material that warranted those ratings in the first place?
