That fight is almost entirely luck on hard. You should restart on normal, it's way less frustrating and you're at the beginning of the game anyways. That fight is about doable with lvl40 estelle and lvl41 anelace (on hard).

I played through and enjoyed the first one until the final boss (or at least what I can only assume was the final boss)- spent upwards of two hours whittling it down to triple digit HP only to lose the fight in the final moments.
Never felt like touching the game again after that. I'm okay with challenge but I frankly felt kind of helpless since I had no opportunity to reconfigure my positions and had to spend 75% of my turns spamming earth wall.
Those were my final memories of this franchise.

It's bullshit design how you have to religiously follow a guide if you want to 100% the game. There's so much missable and completely unintuitive shit that you have to do. A lot of the time there's major things happening and the game is screaming at you to go to somewhere but to 100% you have to instead run to the complete opposite end of the map (and then probably back and forth a couple of times on top of that).
It's especially annoying how the areas have a set order that the game expects you to follow but to complete all the quests in time you usually have to go do the area with the hardest monsters first or the quest times out. Unfortunately you then have to deal with trivial monsters for the rest of the chapter since you're overleved from the strong monsters.

Well, chapter 4 is labelled as "Final Chapter" (I just arrived there), so it's weird that you're asking. Unless you count the prologue as a first chapter, then it means you're actually on chapter 3 (Zeiss), and therefore you still have 1 chapter after that, a big one.

She's a crap damage dealer, her crafts are nothing special, her orbment is totally sabatoged with 3 blue locks, her magic damage isn't great, and Kevin is just a better support character overall in every way. She has 0 use unless you're really hurting for support.

That only really works if every thing two shots you, or else Kloe's would make you take one more hit than Kevin's.
Also Kloe's can be used after you take damage, so you don't get it used up by something shit and you don't gain CP when your hit with max guard up.

All Kloe can do is heal. She's the best at it for sure, but everyone else can heal enough. Kevin's panic-button S craft is just better overall since you can get two uses at 200 cp and he's much, much more flexible in dealing damage and non-healing support.

The hard part was Olivier, he was only level 48 when I got to the end dungeon, that was a fun Three character fight.

The mech is great but she is good in other ways too.
For example there is a lot of enemies that use status effect in the 3rd and Tita is like the first character you find so her healing shot is invaluable.
The mobs attack in mass too so having her to clean is pretty great.
And just when start lagging behind she gets her mech which put her in the higgest tier.
