Slipslime. Brumal Brachydios, lives in the Tundra. White with a purple sheen, secretes blue slime that turns purple and then purple-red as it gets closer to detonating. If you're struck with it, you're soaped until you can roll it off (in comparison to Tama soap that seems like it probably only builds up unless you're struck with a non-soap attack).
Rather than a quick detonation, it's a slow one, and it leaves big, thin pools instead of small, thick piles of slime. The slipslime would spread out quite a bit before detonating. They're basically pools of slip, where you would act as though you're soaped as you pass over them. The idea is that spreading out thinner would cause you to not gain a debuff by passing over them, and that they could cover more of the area at a time as BruBrach moves around.
When they detonate though, the slime actually hardens and shatters into many shards. If you're on top of one, you're instantly bled. When they shatter, a ring of shards are launched into the air and land just outside the radius of the explosion so you could still get hit with them, but these are like Seregios's shards in that if you get hit by narrowly escaping the initial explosion but not paying attention or doing something stupid, it'll try to hit you three times in order to bleed you and you can dodge out of it.
Brachy himself wouldn't have much in the way of instant explosions. Furthermore, his moveset would be modified to tweak each of his existing moves into a sort of... skating variant, where he'd use his horn and pounder slime to pave a path for himself. You know his circle strafing move? He'd circle straight to your other side and swipe his pounder. His horn groundslam for the forward line of explosions would be a skating charge to try and slipslime you, his leap would turn into a U-turn skate when he lands, stuff like that.

The PS4 has sold bupkis in Japan. It's huge over here, but Monster Hunter's biggest audience isn't over here. 3DS has way more sales than that thing and even then it was only many months after the 4U release managed to hit 1 mil "in the west" (meaning the combined total of any country that isn't Japan). Out of four, nearly five million sales I believe.
In Japan, they've got 1.8 million PS4 units sold.
Furthermore, Japan strongly prefers mobile games. Those fuckers are always on the move, and have a culture that leans towards sharing the game experience in person. It's not to say that console gaming is ENTIRELY dead over there, but let's be honest... it's nowhere close to the handheld gaming craze.
Monster Hunter is a great game for commutes and breaks since hunts typically take ten to twenty minutes on average, and it can be paused pretty much instantly, put away, and picked up later as if no time had passed at all.
