Kanako's just makes it more obvious by shrinking your bomb area on top of being immune to it, but most of them have some countermeasure to it.

Kaguya and Eirin phase out during your bomb.
Okuu isn't actually immune, but she reduces your damage to 1/8 when you're invulnerable.
Byakuren is immune to bombs, they don't clear shit and she takes 1/4 damage when you respawn.
Yuyuko is a special case since her final is already a survival card, but you can usually spam bombs/borders to get through it.

Full disclosure here: Although I've normal 1cc'd each Windows mainline game at least once, the only three Extra bosses I've beat up to now are Suwako, Flandre and Ran - in that order.
And even before facing Yukari, I had little to no problems with Ran. I beat her within my first few tries as ReimuA and all the times after that I was able to beat Ran on my first attempt. The only time she actually wrecked my shit was with MarisaB, and that's only because that shottype is a piece of shit.
So yeah, I'm not trying to be an ebin memester here, this is honestly how I feel about this. Who knows, maybe my opinion will change in the future. Word of mouth says Nue is really easy and while she certainly LOOKS easy, I've yet to manage to get past the Kogasa midboss.

In ULiL, typically the last Sumireko card you face is *Occultician of the Present World*, which is fine but nothing special.
But then she has one last card, *Esoteric Seven of Profound Secrets*, which she only uses in the final story. It's a really neat card, and it feels a bit more special since you don't end up seeing it a million times like you did Tenshi's last card.

Most extra boss final cards start fairly easy, and progressively get tougher as you deal more damage to the boss, and Koishi's is no exception. So to prevent you from simply cheesing out these cards by waiting for the time to run out without dealing any damage, they'll become intensely difficult after enough time has passed, regardless of how much damage you've dealt.
However, Koishi doesn't have any sort of time out period, so her card will remain in its easiest phase if you don't shoot, making it simple to cheese her out via running the clock.

It's a lot easier if you know how to triangle graze. Basically it's a "Technique" which allows you to graze non-stop without consuming orbs. You do it by dashing forward, jumping, then airdashing twice so you can touch the ground and start dashing again. It takes a bit of practice and the entire movement isn't very helpful in normal gameplay but it's good to practice your fundamentals and for story mode.
