I bought it because unlike most of you shitters, I actually like the concept of a DQ ARPG. I can understand being frustrated over the fact that after a couple of years of NEVEREVER, the one game that actually does get localized is a spinoff and not a mainline, but man.Wish they could've given it to someone other than Koei Tecmo though. I'll buy Heroes on PC, and I'm happy for the 3DSbros that they get 7 and 8, hopefully they'll release VII on mobile in english as well, I'd buy it.
I beat the main campaign today. The game is really long and really mediocre. For a Dynasty Warriors style game with some tower defense and damage sponges thrown in, it really overstays its welcome for the game play it offers. Later side quests get some interesting narratives later, but a lot of it is just mindless grinds.
Something about the game just feels like it could have been a whole lot better.

I think they were onto something in concept but moving around isn't fun and attacking enemies is clunky. Maps are small, yet moving through them takes a while because you move like molasses.
Hopefully, they'll improve on a lot for DQH2.

You can craft accessories to boost movement speed. They do give you Luceaus' jump ability pretty early on in the campaign.

It is the lack of depth in the combat combined with damage sponge enemies. It gets bad later in the campaign when they just start spamming minibosses since they run out of creativity.
Summoning monsters to help is nice, but allowing players to summing mawkeepers of their own to flow in troops would have created some interesting opportunities.
Certain escort side missions are outright infuriating since pawn AI is clearly suicidal.

The PS4 version is literally just the PS3 version with a higher resolution, frame rate and more enemies on screen. They have no reason to go with the PS3 version especially since they never localized it
