Better than the original. Final boss was a little easy peasey, but overall, it was great. Loved all the customization. The tweaks to the story and levels for Plague Knight was good work as well.

The shadow Plague Knight boss at the end that played more or less exactly like when you fought him as Shovel Knight was the hypest shit in the game. I'm upset that a possible shadow Specter Knight or shadow King Knight boss in their respective campaigns won't be as hype since their fights are fairly simple compared to Plague Knight's. Plague of Shadows is going to be hard to top, that's for sure.

Plague Knight controls like shit. Every movement I make feels awful, the most simple of jumps become a tedious job. Worst DLC they could've come up with. But of course /v/ eats it up because of "muh difficulty".

Sorry, Shovel Knight's campaign is 3 hours tops if you play like a scrub.
Plague Knight is roughly 2 hours, since you'll be familiar with the level layouts and bosses for the most part.
Still, even buying the retail release, that's $5 an hour and the game still has a bit of replay value. I'd say the price is just right, but the fact that there are two more campaigns coming makes it great if you're into classic platformers.

It's a first stage for people who have presumably already finished or at least played the main campaign, which was too easy.

You can remap your controls, you know. I have mine set to:
A - Jump
B - Bombs
R - Relics
Once you get into a rhythm of bomb charging and jumping, you suddenly have more mobility than you ever knew what to do with. Jump -> Bomb Charge - > Jump -> Bomb Charge covers a ton of distance, and keeps you in the air for a long time. I like it way better than SK, personally.RIP infinite bomb jumping.

I already got one in my original playthrough, actually. That and others like doing a stage with no damage, beating a knight with no damage, beating a level without picking up any money. I can't fucking believe I did all that. Platformers have been my fortè since I was a kid, but I didn't think I was capable of any of this. I guess all those hours of Mega Man helped.

Probably helps that he can't destroy the ground during the boss rush. The very first time I beat Propeller Knight I did it with almost no effort but trying to do Checkpointless almost fucking broke me. Must have taken me 15 tries or so, and I just kept falling into the holes like a moron.

Last I knew, you could remap on every platform. I certainly hope that's not something they cut from PS4. There's literally no reason to. I hope it works out for you; Plague Knight is great once you get used to it.
