I've been worrying my entire life, I couldn't answer the "what you wanted to be when you grow up" question, I never felt a strong attachment toward a job.

At least I didn't spend mine pandering to middle class teenagers with 'subversive' JRPGS

>>

Don't feel bad about that.
It's kinda fucked up that some people just accept that *this* job is what they're going to do until the end of their lives.
That sounds fucked up, seriously.

I think I'm slowly improving actually. I thought I was a nervous wreck but I hung out with some blokes the other day who were even more autismal than me, and I ended up looking like the chillest guy in the room. You owe it to yourself to make friends with a couple of autists so you can measure your life against theirs.

Also VIDEO GAMES

>I am now 24 years old and only now able to get into college because now that I've lived on my own for a few years I'm finally being recognized as an independent adult in need

WHY IS THE AMERICAN COLLEGE SYSTEM SO FUCKING STUPID

I WANT TO GET AN ACTUAL MEDICAL DEGREE AND HELP PEOPLE

NOPE BETTER GIVE ALL THOSE GRANTS TO ALL THOSE IMMIGRANTS AND MINORITIES WHO WILL GET BULLSHIT DEGREES

FUCK
>>
I've finally got a good job. Can afford pretty much to do whatever I want and will soon have a house fully paid off. Life is good, it only took over a decade of crippling depression to get to this point.

I'm old and I wasted my life.

Life's a series of disappointments, and you never really become an "adult."

Take it from someone with a well-paying job living around grown human beings.
>>
>>316529510
I'm turning 26 in 2 days and feel like I wasted a good part of my life too.
>>

Feel sorry for you man. Keep your heart set on your dream. You're a good person and don't deserve this shit. You'll get there in the end. Just try to enjoy things in the mean time.

Willing to give your life for the great american medical business, only for the chosen salaried ones to be saved.

Most of the greatest people in history didn't do great things until they were in their '30s, you still have time. The 'young prodigy' thing where people expect you to be a billionaire rockstar by age 20 is a pretty modern and unrealistic concept.
>>
>>316527447
Never. It doesn't matter.
>>
>>316529583
that's bullshit and the only reason you feel that way is because that's what you're expecting to happen. Life is a mixture of highs and lows, don't focus on the disappointment, focus on what is good.
>>
Life is all about perception.

The key to being happy, is simply wanting to be happy.

You're only miserable because you want to be.
>>
>>316529434
Hey, look on the positive side. You're now fully independent, and you don't need anyone.
Most students who comes out of college often don't know what the fuck to do because they've never really done anything independent, and suddenly they're expected to be adults.
>>
>>316529723
>NEET
i don't think you know what that word means
>>
>>316529830
IT MEANS : "HUMAN TRASH" AND THIS APPLIES TO YOU 100%
>>
>>316529708
Thanks man. It's taken me this long to finally get in, and I'm not gonna waste it.

>>316529745
I get you're doing a thing, but I've spent my entire life being obsessed with anything having to do with the medical work and cheesy Fantastic Voyage bullshit. I will work in a fucking back alley as a gang surgeon if I have to, because I genuinely want to do this as a career.

>>316529792
That's the only positive thing about my parent's stupid ass speeches. Hurr durr back in my day I could quit one job and have another before sunset, you just aren't trying enough. Got out of that bullshit when I turned 20, now I have a really nice office job making just barely over the poverty line. Living off of a pack of ramen a day for two years humbles the goddamn shit out of you.

"Life is a rush of chemicals".
Satisfy your requirement for chemical/energy intake and achieve homeostasis, and your life will be just fine.

Being salaried (even entry/median level) generally means you'll have a way less stressful time and end up happier overall with your personal life. Not easy to hear at ~20 when achieving most stuff still seems impossible, but it's true.

25, used to be 100% sure I would never succeed until I got through college and took an offer at a web firm, and now I never have to worry about paying my bills in exchange for fucking off at a desk during the week. Got a 10% raise just last week for no reason.

Only problem is I still haven't given up on my dreams and they keep popping into my head when I'm trying to fall asleep at night, but hey-- all the money I could ever want for video games and booze.
