Is this PC a good deal for a gaming PC or am I getting scammed?
I5-2400 CPU 3.1ghz quad core
12gb DDR3 memory
128gb SSD and 1tb SATA hard drive
Nvidia GTX 760 2gb video card
Here's a pic of it, it's being sold for $300 and is the tower only.
It's meh.
That cpu will be weak in a few months(its already like 3+ years old) and it's locked so you can't overclock.
The video card is weak - at best medium settings, maybe low on heavier games.

On lime low/mid at best maybe 1080p, not higher.
But it is a great deal for 300 bucks. Problem is if you want to upgrade you'll probably have to switch out CPU and mobo + VGA + PSU which will only leave you with the ram from the initial purchase.

It's an i5 2400, which is socket LGA1155.
That socket was onl used for Sandy and Ivy Bridge(the 2xxx and 3xxx series).
We are now at 6xxx(Skylake) and already working on the 7xxx.
So at best you'll be able to upgrade to a 3xxx CPU which will be 10% better tops - waste of money.

An Intel Pentium G3258 outperforms i5 2400, 2500 and 2500k in every category except multi core performance since they are quad cores and the pentium is dual core. The g3258 is also $60 and unlocked. My shitbox with a g3258+r9 280 was auto detected by fallout 4 to run at Ultimate settings.
