Downloading a bunch of mods and giving it another go. Unfortunately I never got into New Vegas for more than ~50 hours but Fallout 4's general lack of polish or innovation has revitalized my interest.
So is Caesar's Legion too retarded for metalworking? I was thinking about how they use bumper swords and shit like that and I can't remember seeing any forges and things like that from them to make more effective weapons and now it's bothering me that a roman copycat can't even produce their own proper equipment and still use scrap.

It adds over 100 new locations to the game.
A lot of them are smaller interior areas with some tough enemies, including "bosses" that vaporize on death so you can't loot their OP weapons/armor.
Some areas have new lore/stories, cool loot, some even make decent hideouts.
If you want a quick example, check inside the tour plane shack between Primm and Goodsprings. Theres basement inside now.

NVEC. New Vegas Enhancnent Content I think. Gives you some cool things like adding all the DLC weapons into the world from the beginning along with some other cool things.
My only issue was I couldn't get the compatibility patches it has for a lot of the top popular mods working without the game just crashing instantly so I just didn't use it and so far all the mods seek to be playing nice.

Going from NV back FO3 (never played any dlcs) makes me realize how little variety in weapons fo3 actually had. Gauss rifle seems kind of cool though but I did an energy weapon playthroughs before and wanted to do small arms this time. I was thinking my primary weapon would be the unique Chinese assault rifle and Lincoln repeated as a secondary. Still, what a walk down memory lane though. After I got my winterized power armor from operation anchorage, I headed on down to andale and had me a nice good old fashioned town genocide.

Of course you can take everything they have but I find that pretty stupid because you then lose their constant supply of weapons, rare ammo, crafting components and medicines. They get re-stocked when they're alive, but when you kill them everything you take will run out eventually.

Holorifle is an excellent weapon. Incredibly reliable for all ranges.
YCS/186 shits on the anti materiel rifle because of ammo bonuses.
And if you truly specialize, you can get Laser Commander, all the crit perks, all the crit equipment, and use Pew Pew.
Pew Pew with max charge ammo will deal about 150 damage per shot(firing twice almost instantly) with 75 crit damage and a 2.5x chance multiplier.
You can get 62.5% base crit chance with the Pew Pew, or up to 86% chance if in VATS and with relevant perks
so each pew deals 225 damage, for 450 damage in a pew pew. Max charge ammo also ignores a good portion of armor. Laser Commander also boosts laser weapon damage, so it's a bit more than 450.
So you're basically dealing more than Anti Materiel Rifle damage twice every second with a blazing fast reload speed.

Use only a specific type of weapon, or jazz up your kills. One way is to aggro them, throw the a gun at them, pick up the gun when it strikes them, equip it, and blow them to bits when you equip it again. You can make it with the Hand Loading perk, they're much more powerful rounds but they make it degrade quicker.

I never appreciated how much of a fantastic RPG New Vegas is until I realized howmuch of a shit RPG Fallout 4 is
I think the major thing that I've come to find as a stark difference between New Vegas and Fallout 4, is that with Fallout 4 copying Skyrim's dungeon design to make it linear, and exit almost always right where you started, that it never really occurred to me to think of New Vegas' buildings as 'dungeons' I always felt like they were buildings to explore and things to find, whereas Fallout 4 definitely has more of a dungeony feel to all of the buildings, if that makes any sense.

Brought like 6 hits of Turbo and got it on my first go at around the same level.
I'm actually a bit disappointed by this game, in a specific way. I play on very hard and hardcore but after a certain amount of hours, you're just an unstoppable god of death. There's no survival going on after that. I know one of the DLCs has some good survival gameplay at least.

I didn't, I was getting really tired of my collar beeping like dial up so I rushed as much as I could. I know I missed a lot since there was some sort of thing for getting all the BAR's parts and I only found like, 2 of them. I had way more than enough ammo and enough weapons to fix up the BAR when I needed to though jury rigging. I don't think I can go back to the casino either which means I can't get the last parts.
