We got this reveal yesterday but nothing could stay on the board that wasn't about femLink or cloud.

I really like female knight characters that wield sword and shield and the Mulan story is pretty good. Hopefully they wouldn't make never seeing her face into a thing and you would actually get to see what she looked like under there at some point.
I guess she's also based on an actual historical figure which seems pretty weird for a part of the world that is supposed to treat women so differently

The sheathe is supposed to be on the opposite side. If you're right handed, the sheathe goes on your left and vice-versa. This makes it easier to put away your weapon. How did the character designer not know basic shit like this?

Hmm. Thanks for the video and the information anons but allow me to critique your sources just a little bit. The shields you have used as examples are larger shields whereas the guy in OP's pic seems to be using a smaller shield like a buckler. So it wouldn't really get in the way of drawing a sword. Also in my original point I was talking about Sheathing a sword, not drawing it. The guy in the video does fine drawing it but to sheathe it you see him using both hands and putting the sheathe out further in front of him.

Yes. Sheathing doesn't matter as much once you know the threat has been extinguished. But as I said in my original post, its easier to put away your weapon if its on the opposite side. So for convenience's sake why isn't it like this in the character design? But really, thanks for the video I love watching that kind of stuff.

did you watch the video? he drew a full length long sword from the right side quite easily and cited a reason you would choose to do that regardless of shield size (riding horseback, which is a pretty common image for arabian soldiers).
Even though her shield is not as big as a roman legionnaire's it is still much larger than a buckler as it has a strap towards the elbow in addition to a grip on the hand, which would result in limited motion on the right hand and probably create the problems he was demonstrating where you would have to sacrifice your cover from the shield to draw your sword from across your body.
