It's already confirmed to just be a timed exclusive. And if it's getting on Xbox and PC there is nothing to stop it from coming to a Nintendo console when they actually have a console with the power to run it.

And that is almost certainly the NX.
We have known this ever since the PC Gaming Show from E3. And it was confirmed to be Nintendo at a later date. So there you have it. AMD's latest chips aren't below the PS4's.
Granted that there can be other bottlenecks, but considering AMD's chips it's pretty safe to assume that it will be notably more powerful.

Square Enix gets the best advertising machine in all of gaming to promote the FF7 remake for them, but that makes no sense if the game doesn't also appear on a Nintendo console. Nintendo's benefit from his inclusion would be way too small otherwise, because not that many FF fans own a Wii U and they'd just be giving free advertisement for their rival console.

It's not new.
Timed exclusives have been around for a long, long time. Games would usually come out for one platform first and then be ported to another later, if they even were ported to other platforms at all. Simultaneous multi-platform release as a standard way of doing things is something that really started last gen and people just started to take it for granted but there were never any guarantees the publishers were always going to do it and do it for every game.

AMD is far more powerful for each dollar for CPUs. But software is optimized for intel because they're vastly more popular. Which means for most consoles having an AMD CPU helps a lot long term because each console will use the same CPU and it'll be optimized to be more powerful than Intel.

With the amount of collaboration that SE and Nintendo have just showcased, along with the articles saying how much Nintendo was pursuing 3rd parties for the NX (SE actually was name dropped) and finally the Cloud reveal trailer singling out SSB X FFVII, the odds seem pretty high.
I honestly don't care either way since I don't have a whole lot of interest in mainline FF games, but I'm happy to see Nintendo and SE supporting each other after seeing such a SE heavy Direct.
