32v32 is a problem because it's like 25 dudes spawning on 5, which is obviously a bit ludicrous for a supposedly-tactical game. Maybe the series could improve with a better spawn system.

It came out on consoles and the consolised casualization made it easily accessible and popular because it was closest to CoD than BF had ever been untill then. BC1 was the same deal obviously, but BC2 was the first that really caught on. BC games were the games that killed battlefield. RIP.

Extremely tight map design (inb4 that one faggot that's been crying about "muh small" for 5 motherfucking years).
High player health compared to most modern shooters, so you don't instantly die if an enemy manages to outflank you.
Also giving you more freedom and maneuverability compared to most modern shooters. You actually had a honest-to-god jump button.

But in the end of the day, it was just fun

It really is true though. In reality it gave DICE enough fanboys to not be dumped by EA and be able to make shitty games without having to take the blame for being incompetent.

Why BC2 is so well regarded is still a mystery for DICE as admitted by them and they don't even have to try too hard anymore since every shortcoming in their games is always blamed on EA.

I used to get like 20 frames when I played it because my GPU was absolute garbage. So I would play squad deathmatch and snipe people with the gustav as they spawned

Sales don't make a game better or worse, btw. BF3 was made without BC2 being some super success, and it's awful.

Check it: BC2 sells supposedly 7M copies over 9 editions. BF3 sells 17M. Yet, it selling was completely because of trailers and announcements. It developed a lot of interest. That started their roll, and it had very little to do with the BC series.

Player speed and slight input lag
Gun recoil and damage models. You don't die instantly from a spray of automatic fire from across the map like you do in BF3 and BF4
Maps with lots of trees, foliage and various cover, all destructible.
Giving LMGs to the medic class and ammo to the AR class.
Sniper rifles were perfect in every way. Having to unzoom while loading the chamber, lethal at close range

Basically,CoD run and gunning tactics were obliterated. Comfiest, most enjoyable and tactical multiplayer FPS I've ever played. 11/10
