I also want stock control, and the option to go solo during a team match, so it could be 8 player smash where like 2 or 3 people are on a team and everyone else is on their own. It worked before Sm4sh because there were N-1 teams (N is the max number of players).
It would also be cool if they allowed you to co-op the 1 player modes.
The problem with SD remix is that it messes with some of the timing of the moves, so it's hard to go back and forth if you play someone like mario

There's no point in Nintendo making Melee HD if they're going to just cut out all the adv tech and shit, because they already have Sm4sh for a casual game. If they ever make Melee HD, it would be to dive into the espurts market (super unlikely but not 0%, given how they've pushed Sm4sh into EVO they might be more open to competitive gaming than in the past), which means they would want to fuck as little as possible with Melee's core gameplay. If it ever does happen, it would probably be a graphics remaster with maybehopefullya few balance changes.

I played Melee competitively for a couple of years.
They patched a fuck ton of tech out of Smash 4 and they would absolutely patch wavedashing out of Melee HD. Friction values are in Brawl and Smash 4, too.
