I really, really liked the air-juggle combo mechanic.
Cancelling your final attack at the last second to continue the attack with another character was pretty sweet, too.
Also, you had to nail that combo system or this little loli witch piece of shit would fuck you up.

The combat system seemed neat at first but got old pretty fast. Probably because it was completely onesided - didn't matter a lick who or what you were facing, you just kept doing your thing the same way.
On the plus side, it had ok characters, some nice music and funny dialogue.

Only issue I ever had was the fact that using items didn't take a turn, so you could cheese extremely hard with item spam. If a boss doesn't 1 shot your whole party, it didn't do anything except force you to have an extra potion or revive.

Endless Frontier had cameo characters. It wove them into the story perfectly. The best characters were still the originals, like Haken, Suzuka and the Orchestral Army.
PXZ was nothing BUT cameo characters. All fluff no substance. There was also no exploring and 99% of the game was spent clearing out generic trash mobs, compared to the hundreds of awesome and unique boss fights over the two EF games.

The Orchestral Army were pretty sweet semi-antagonists. Katze Kotolnos was a cool gay cat guy and a nice boss battle.

The boss battles were already long enough in the early and midgame. Going to 30 minutes for each boss battle when the game starts spamming them like they're a gauntlet at the end of the game is horseshit.
