Nobody was really talking about it anymore, until Sony came out with the 4th game announcement and the money-grabbing trilogy, but I guess that now it's the moment to seriously talk about the Uncharted games.
I personally think that they're fuckin' overrated, I mean, I'm not saying that they're that bad, but they're just average TPSs, pumped up with AAA graphics and cinematic cutscenes to cover up the poor gameplay that's at the core of them.
Nevertheless, gaming reviewers (maybe with a little help from $ony's cash) praised them as masterpieces, as if they were something unique and revolutionary. Expecially Uncharted 3 (which imo is the worst of all) has been critically hyper-acclaimed, although it's nothing special, as I said before just a mediocre TPS (1 and 2 are average/nice imo) with also too much QTEs.
Don't you also think that this saga got too much praise for what it's worth?

I meant JC2, it was a typo. The game had great combat and movement abilities and also had many great missions, although the stronghold capture ones were kinda repetitive.
You can play most of TLoU as a shooter, and it also has way better combat mechanics and enemy variety than Uncharted.

I'm the OP, and I have a PS3 since 2008. If I say this it's because I played both Uncharted and TLOU and I objectively recognize that they're average games. ND was skilled? Maybe in the past (more for Jak and Daxter though, I never really liked CB although Crash 2 and 3 are good games), now they make average games which are just pumped up by their AAA graphics. To admit it is not being a "Sony hater" (I've got PS3 and also a Vita, and I'll get a PS4 when I have the money for Bloodborne and few other exclusives), is just being intellectually honest.

Uncharted 2 deserves all the praise in the world. I doubt any of the other Uncharted games will get near it in quality. Its only flaw, in my opinion, was how impotent the guns felt. Other than that the game is perfect for what it was trying to be.
I am still under the impression that U2 has the best pacing for any video game.

The Uncharted Series is the closest any adventure game has got to the feel indiana jones film style, i.e pacing story plot, action romance comedy Tomb Raider borrows many elements from indiana jones but is a game through and through which isn't to say it's a bad thing early games were good based on gamelplay elements, puzzles platforming and action when needed. I would have to say Uncharted is the closest a game has got to being cinematic as a movie, which is good and bad.
